The top experience in Naxos for wine-lovers and gourmet travellers. The winery is unique on the island, as far as I know, for wine tasting. Emanuel is the owner and does this job with plenty of love. This young man studied at Agricultural University and left the big city of Athens to create his pure wines, excellent olive oil, biological vegetables and herbs that are worth visiting. The tour is not limited to the wine-tasting but is also a good opportunity to meet the owner and his passion, to see the whole estate, the gardens, the olive trees and know many things about the harvesting, the wine-making and incredible details about the wines and the wine tradition of Cyclades. We started at 18:00 and after a tour of the estate, we sat at the winery (a very old building) for the wine tasting accompanied by delicious products of this land (e.g. tomatoes, olives, local cheese) which were quite enough (actually a brave portion) for two people. We enjoyed five wine labels (from seven total labels that he produces) and grappa (or raki in Greece). The wines were very good, reflecting the state-of-the-art production methods and the love of the owner. All the wine varieties are from this part of the Aegean sea (Cyclades) and the production has protected geographical indication label for ensuring this quality. The location is amazing, especially during sunset, the whole experience last more than two hours and Emanuel as an incredible host was always there to explain and discuss with his visitors. I will recommend this winery and I will try to visit again to see the evolution of...
Read moreI drove all the way to this so-called "winery" for a wine tasting and a mixed platter for two. After barely half an hour, we were rudely forced to leave our table – apparently because a group "needed" it for their tasting. This is unheard of in any establishment that claims to offer hospitality. Forcing paying customers to leave mid-experience is not only unprofessional, it’s downright disgraceful. I pointed out to the woman in charge – who was pushy, dishonest, and clearly lacking any sense of customer service – that we had paid just like everyone else. Her only response was „sorry, I can’t do anything, you have to leave“. Moreover, she kept trying to aggressively sell their mediocre wine the entire time, shortly before I paid and before she kicked us out. Shameless and insulting. As if that weren’t enough, when I asked for directions to the nearby Agios Mamas church earlier in the visit (before the situation turned fully absurd), she gave me completely wrong directions, resulting in me walking for two hours under the rain (it was raining that day). Whether it was ignorance or indifference, I’m not sure – but neither is acceptable. As for the wine and food? Utterly forgettable. Low quality, nothing special, and certainly not worth the price. This place is a scam disguised as a winery – poorly managed, disrespectful to guests, and only interested in squeezing money out of tourists. A disgrace to local hospitality....

We recently visited the Saint Anna Winery in Naxos, and it was an experience we’ll never forget. This young winery, rooted in a rich family history, is truly a hidden gem on the island. Manolis, a man with a clear vision and dream, welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived.
The setting is cozy, intimate, and filled with a warmth that’s hard to find elsewhere. The owner shared fascinating stories about the winery’s history and his journey, all delivered with a delightful sense of humor that made the visit even more enjoyable.
We were treated to a tasting of three exceptional wines, two delicious dessert wines, and a homemade liquor, each paired perfectly with local Naxian cheeses, fresh figs, tomatoes, and olives. The care and craftsmanship in every sip were evident, and the flavors were simply outstanding.
What really stood out was the return to the roots of winemaking—everything is grown and made on-site, ensuring that each product is as authentic as it gets. We felt completely at ease in this family-like environment, where passion and tradition come together beautifully.
If you find yourself in Naxos, Saint Anna Winery is an absolute must-visit. You’ll leave with not just great memories, but also a deep appreciation for the art...
