Went here for a wine tasting in late september with my partner. The tasting was recommended on the italian "Lonely Planet" tour guide and it was 100% correct, great experience.
Lefteris guided me and my partner through a beautiful tasting of 5 wines (each of us payed about 20 euro for it), with very generous portions. He was extremely welcoming and passionate, super professional and knowledgeable about Gaia Winery and wine production in general (both in Greece and outside). He showed us the production part of the Winery, guided us through the tasting and then allowed us to walk in the outdoor field. He personally decided which cheese and fruit to pair with each wine and his choices were amazing. The visit was scheduled to be 45 minutes long (probably a bit tight for everything) but we stayed some time more since there was no visit afterwards. We also bought some excellent wines at reasonable prices. 100% would recommend, we loved Lefteris and would absolutely come again even for him alone!
Only side note: the booking is all made online and the procedure is a bit convoluted (you pay, receive a receipt and only some time afterwards the tasting is actually confirmed), but with us it...

I have travelled all over Greece and visited dozens of wineries and have had exceptional experiences with many wineries and what always strikes me is how warm the welcome is and how proud the producers are of their product. This is not the case with Gaia wines. This was a terrible experience. At the time of the booking request you must enter your credit card details but the booking is not confirmed. It took some time for the booking to be confirmed at which time our plans changed. As soon as the confirmation was received I emailed back to cancel. Regardless they took the payment. The emails from the customer service team were rude and it's clear they believe they are too a big a winery to care about the customer experience they provide. There are so many wonderful wineries in the region....

Georgia showed me through the winery explaining the history of the winery and it’s winemakers etc. The tasting itself was in a fantastic space in the barrel room and was complimented by a presentation about the wines as we went through them. The Santorini Assyrtiko was mind blowing. The local (Nemea) Agiorgitikos were also excellent. Will definitely source some of these when I get back...
