My friend and I travelled to Lasinthos Eco Park as part of our trip to the north coast of Crete. We were only booked for one night but ended up staying two. My friend had completed the booking and at short notice I was taking the place of another friend who could not make the trip. I had no idea where we were going or had any time for prior research. ||||We were blown away by the beauty of the area on our taxi drive to the Lasinthos Eco Park the views were stunning. At the Lasinthos we were greeted by Manos the owner and Dimitri who were both very knowledgeable about the local area and produce. After our first day we loved it so much we changed our plans and decided to stay another night. ||||The view from our balcony was spectacular, we had views of the mountains and the plateau it was beautiful. Breakfast was a lovely traditional Cretan breakfast with fresh local produce.||||Manos our host was charming and gave us a personal tour of the mountains, the Holly Spirit Church and a drive around the plateau. We saw local crops and even the local sheep, nothing was too much trouble. We did not have a car so Manos made arrangements to take us from our apartment to a local tervena for dinner and arranged our lift back.||||The Lasinthos Eco Park normally hosts workshops on local crafts but due to COVID none of these were available. There is a gift shop where you can taste the local produce and there is a restaurant you can order food and drinks. ||Some areas of the Eco Park accommodation are looking tired and small improvements could really make this place stand out to welcome groups for residential retreats like yoga. ||||I would highly recommend this hidden gem for its spectacular views and beautiful scenery, definitely give this...

Read moreLasinthos is the best place to stay in Lasithi Plateau. The traditional maisonette was comfortable and clean, decorated with the local ceramics and the handmade embroidered tablecloths and curtains. The view from the balcony of the maisonette was unforgettable. Although we usually cook our breakfast by ourselves, in Lasinthos serve a very rich breakfast for only 5 euro per person and we could not resist to try all these unique flavors of the local organic products. My daughter (13 years old) enjoyed the ceramic workshop, the farm with sheep, goats, horses, cows, quails, chickens, gooses etc, riding a donkey to the cave of Zeus (only 5 minutes driving distance from Lasinthos) that was very impressive and meeting the teens of the village. I enjoyed the tasty food with fresh organic products from the farm that they serve in Lasinthos. When i left my home in Santorini island, there was a usual hot spell of summertime and i felt so relieved when i arrived in the wonderful cool climate of Lasithi that i didn't want to leave from Lasinthos and i extended my stay there...
