We decided to randomly pick a beach from a map to visit, and I am so glad we chose this one!
To reach it, you drive through small villages and down a series of steep switchbacks. If driving tight spaces or heights makes you nervous, I would not recommend this. It's not a bad drive at all, but a bit "butt puckering". The view from the top and all the way down is incredible!
The beach has a restaurant and a small taverna with rentable chairs (Seaesta, which is a lovely spot). The beach itself is smooth pebbles, not sand. It's good for a sit and relaxation, but I would recommend chairs or a couple towels, as lying on the pebbles isn't a smooth experience. This seemed to be a very popular spot for locals.
There are rocks shelfs here that are very slippery. While I did see people further out, unless you really trust yourself as a swimmer, I would not recommend doing that. On the far left side, by the cliffs is a large natural pool that is no deeper than a few feet. It's a wonderful float, wade, or even sit.
This is not your standard beach, but instead a quiet retreat for those who want more nature and peace rather than sand...

There are no lifeguards but the water is pretty safe if you exercise caution - there is a rocky plateau which breaks the waves before they reach the shore. Many smooth pebbles, stones and rocks - so swimming shoes are definitely recommended but not entirely necessary for getting in the water. No sand (which may or may not be a bad thing!)
Popular spot for snorkelling & diving. Many rock pools, teeming with life (watch out for the slippery rocks).
The road to get here is somewhat quiet but narrow - so just have to be careful when going around blind corners. Free, slightly off-road parking is available (ample spaces). Small restaurant/ bar nearby for refreshments. Changing booth/ shower...
Read moreNice rocky beach that's not crowded. There's a cafe with few sunbeds and lots of natural shade under the trees. It is a bit too rocky and although I've never worn water shoes, I would suggest you bring a pair if you don't want your feet pierced by the rocks some of which are also very slippery. Avoid if windy as it can be dangerous - there are huge rocks in the sea and the waves can easily throw you at the rocks. It's also best not to leave kids unattended. The road to reach the beach is fine, fully paved just a bit narrow. it is peaceful and quiet and there's a little church in the...
