Interesting place to visit , easy enough to find. You will need a car or there is a bus that stops nearby. You can only get so far by car anyway !! There is then a short trek up the mountain, good footwear needed as the path is quite rocky and steep in places. It's not a very difficult trek though and the cave and the view are worth it. I couldn't help but think about and try to imagine what it must have been like for Euripides. I went into the cave through a fairly narrow entrance, there was a string that I could follow so as not to get disoriented on the way out. There was no one else there the day that I went, just my friend and I. There is a spring nearby and some other structures all set in a lovely pine Forest with a fantastic sea view. It's best to go fairly early in the morning during the summer months as it gets very hot by noon. Water , sunscreen and a good torch (I just had my phone flashlight). Allow two hours at least...

We have 2 kids with us (4 and 11 yrs old) and it took us 15 minutes with 2 little stops in between from where we can park the car to the cave itself. The other challenge for us was it was noon and summer when we took the hike. Make sure bring lots of water and sunscreen with you and pack light weight clothes and towel to wipe the sweat. Before reaching the cave you'll passby the Sanctuary of Dionysos which was cool. The view is amazing once on top and the breeze helped a lot. We're glad we took the hike as it was our way to one of the beaches and did a sidetrip spontaneously. It was totally worth it. Both of my kids were very happy, especially my 4 yr old. He was proud of himself to do the hike by himself without our help of carrying him. It was his first cave...
Read moreHad a good day walking up here in the winter sun. It's a short hike from the parking, but the caves are pretty cool. I was alone here, and went walking around in the caves, could actually stand up in some places, and except for the smell of dust, it was a wonderful experience. You could watch a stalagmite in the process of being built.. 😀 View was fantastic, caves were amazing, and I am so...
