First of all, this really is a HIKE, not a little walk. The trail is absolutely stunning, the whole way you get the most spectacular views! In my opinion you should do this hike for the journey and the views along the way, and not so much for the beach itself. Fikiada beach is blue and beautiful but not that different from the other beaches on the island, and it’s quite abandoned/boring. BUT there are people stating that you can do this hike in 30-45 minutes, that is very much so untrue! At the beginning of the path (near an industrial place with the little gate where the colors of the hike are indicated) it says 3.6km, 1h20min and that’s how long it takes you. I’m 26 years old and quite fit and I did it in 1h23 minutes without breaks, I met 5 couples along the way and they all did it within 1h10min - 1h40min. So please don’t think you can do this in 45 minutes nor is it an easy path (it’s very uneven, lots of rocks you have to climb on and over, lots of loose stones). Do bring a lot of water (more than you think you’ll need) and wear trail shoes since 95% of the path is rocks or stones (see pictures). And wear a hat or cap because there is 0 shade.

This is a deceptive walk first of all. It says 3/4 from the car park but I’d say 4/4 due to the steep descent on going to the beach in the last 1/3rd of the walk. It will take you 35-40mins from the dirt track road which you’ll take from the Vathy tarmac road. Don’t even attempt this if you don’t have ample water for a full day away as there is nothing on the beach - the beach gets v busy by about lunch time with ribs and all sorts but at 8am -11 you’ll be alone. On the ascent and back to the car park area it will take you around 70mins and be a tough climb back and you’ll need to have kept some reserve water for the return. I’d advise you only tackle this after 4.30pm mid summer. The heat and sun could make it impossible.

It is an amazing beach with access from the sea or via a decent hike. We hiked there. 45 minutes on each way, 160 mt elevation gain (on the way back). We hiked there at around 10 am and it was nice (hot but not intolerable) and the views are spectacular so super worth the hike. Once there the beach is amazing and there is almost nobody around. No shadows and no refreshments either however, so we decided to hike back at 1 pm and that was quite hard. All in all, super worth it but bring good shoes (no flip flops) and at least some water
