One of the best things to do on Samos! The wine is excellent, I - a hardcore fan of the Italian wine - was truly surprised by it. But what made the experience even better was that the owner shared so many details on how the wine is made and why Samos is a great place to cultivate this art. We loved it! We ended up buying 6 bottles and if it wasn't for the luggage restrictions, we would have taken more. I booked the wine tasting experience the day before my visit and received an email confirmation. Please make sure you book your visit, this way the owner can prepare for it. And if your wine tasting experience doesn't turn into buying, which it doesn't have to, at least you will have behaved correctly by paying a small amount to taste 6 different kinds of wine. After all, each bottle needs to be opened and the owner dedicates his time to you, so it's the little you can do to show respect to local business. A highly...
Read moreTerrible dissapointment. We had hoped for an interesting wine tasting experience. Instead, we arrived in a warehouse, where the host did not even introduce himself (still don’t know his name). We were sat down, and we were poured 5 different very very small glasses of wine, all in the same glass, not even a total of 1 full glass, with some basic info that we mostly could’ve gotten from the bottle. Only a little bit of info on Samos’ vineyards. Unfortunately no coherent story, no introduction, no tour, not even a glass of water while it was 33 degrees. It ended after 45 minutes while it was supposedly 60 minutes. We did get some cheese which was nice.
Definitely would not recommend, the least interesting wine tasting we have ever attended and the worst value...
Read moreA small winery shop where you can stop by and taste local wine (by reservation). There is not much variety but an enjoyable activity to do before going to Pythagoras Cave. The owner was friendly, explained a lot about their wine and the island. The only problem is that he could have poured more wine for tasting since the tasting glasses are already small. Some of their wines can be found in...
