A small piece of a huge chapter of the Greek history which involves the foresight and the bravery of enlightened military personnel of those times. Important to combine the visit, with a scroll at the hill just above the museum called “goritsaki” where remains of the original trenches can be found. Unfortunately most of the trenches and fortifications are deeply hidden under the wild nature at the surrounding hills. A great museum with lots of history to learn! The guys doing the small tour are very knowledgeable and passionate! In the end, there is a video showcasing the battle, which is accompanied by lights on a map showing each army's movements. Don't forget to check the various photos on the walls.

Greek Italian second world war museum. Have a lot of items to display like photos from the first line, guns, military uniforms etc. At the end of tour visitors can be display ten minutes video of the Italian attack. The museum have a tour guide.

Το Μουσείο είναι αφιερωμένο στις πρώτες 12 μέρες του Ελληνοϊταλικού πολέμου. Στον προαύλιο χώρο του Μουσείου ο επισκέπτης έχει την ευκαιρία να δει βαρέα όπλα του πυροβολικού που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν στον Ελληνοϊταλικό Πόλεμο. Απέναντι από το Μουσείο βρίσκονται οι ανδριάντες του Πρωθυπουργού της Ελλάδας I. Μεταξά , που συνέδεσε το όνομά του με το "ΟΧΙ" του Ελληνικού λαού απέναντι στην αξίωση των Ιταλών για άνευ όρων παράδοση της Χώρας μας, του Βασιλέως Γεωργίου του Β' και του Αρχιστράτηγου Παπάγου. Σε πολύ κοντινή απόσταση από το Μουσείο Πολέμου βρίσκεται η σπηλιά την οποία το 1940 ο Διοικητής της 8ης Μεραρχίας Χαράλαμπος Κατσιμήτρου χρησιμοποιούσε ως τακτικό στρατηγείο.

Εξαιρετικό μουσείο, πολύ προσεγμένο και ο φαντάρος που υπηρετεί ήταν πολύ εξυπηρετικός, ψαγμένος (από άποψη ιστορικών γεγονότων) και επεξηγηματικός. Αξίζει πραγματικά να δείτε το βίντεο (δέκα λεπτών) με τα γεγονότα της μάχης του Καλπακίου, μιας και δίπλα ακριβώς υπάρχει ένας 3D χάρτης με μεγάλη λεπτομέρεια, διαδραστικός, ο οποίος φωτίζει στη διάρκεια του βίντεο για καλύτερη κατανόηση της μάχης. Επιπλέον, στολές της εποχής, παράσημα, ιστορικές αφίσες αλλά και φωτογραφίες γεγονότων. Υπάρχει κι ένα βιβλίο με την καταγραφή όλων των πεσόντων του '40, όπου μπορείτε να ψάξετε και κανέναν συγγενή ή συντοπίτη! Η είσοδος είναι δωρεάν. Αξίζει να το επισκεφτείτε!

A small but well organized museum of the Hellenic army that gives the visitor a good impression of the historical facts of the area. An emotional mental travel in the past, well worth the visit.
