Monolithi Beach is a long, beautiful, and mostly empty beach – perfect for those who enjoy peace and quiet by the sea. There is plenty of space to relax without crowds, as well as lots of natural shade near the parking area. You can also find public showers and several beach bars with sunbeds.
We originally planned to spend a peaceful family day there, but a kind elderly gentleman (speaking a mix of Greek and German, while we only understood English 😄) kindly warned us that the beach might not be the best choice for children – the sea gets deep almost immediately after entering.
He even took the time to guide us to a more suitable beach in Preveza, which turned out to be perfect for our kids, and we had a fantastic day there. A big thank-you to that...
Read moreThis beach is not with sand but very small rocks. The water is clear you can actually see the fishes but be careful the deep water goes from the start and usually has big waves. Not very suitable for little children or unexperienced swimers. The beach is very long you can drive along the coast but take notice that there are only 2 or 3 coffee and snack bars everywhere else is empty beach where you need to bring your own chair, umbrella, food and drinks. Small pebbles and sand prevail in gently sloped entrance to the water. Deeper on it is mostly sand. It can get a bit windy with large waves.
