Best beach in Skiathos. Water quality is best out of all of the beaches and more relaxing than the other beaches in the main island. The nearest competitor for us was the Banana Beach managed by Elivi Hotel. There is a bar on the beach too. The beach next to the bar has sun beds (€5/bed) and umbrellas. There is also a larger beach that can be accessed by following the small path behind the beach next to the bar. Larger beach doesn’t have any facilities but is also great.
There are two churches. One can be accessed on the way to the big beach. The other one is extremely difficult to get to by foot.
Getting there: need to take a boat from Old Port (10am, 11am and midday) or Achladies Beach (11:30am). Return at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm to Old Port and 4:30pm to Achladies. PS: time may change, these were at the end of August.
Negatives: saw few people smoking on the beach, plus cigarette butts on the beach. Would have been perfect if smoking was banned. When went for a walk around the island, saw many left behind wipes and other rubbish in the forest part. Beach bar owner (gentleman with long hair) can be pretty rude sometimes. He won’t let anyone take food to the sun beds. Everyone must eat within the bar area. This is not a problem at all but most of us get used to with extraordinary level of service from the Greeks so anything less accommodating or stern may...
Read moreA beautiful sandy beach.
For those people who are from Athens, it reminds the beach of Schinias in Marathon.
For my Greek opinion, it's overestimated beach of the island considering that the boat charges 12 euros to take you there and back in a ten minute ride. If you go in August, you won't find a sunbed with a sea view. They keep the sunbeds "reserve" until late.
It's crowded place, so if you go is preferable to sit under a shade tree. It has a better view of the sea and is more quite.
Ideal for people who likes noise and loud beach bar music. The wates are clean and generally is a safe beach for swimming. There is a lifeguard and the shower water is salty.
Not preferable for Greeks who prefer pure and untachable natural beauty Greek beaches. So, you will not find many...
Read moreThe scenery is beautiful but it is such a big shame to see local owners not respecting nature. There is a beach bar and God only knows if and how the got permit for it. Please note that the area is supposedly protected under NATURA but once you step there you realise that when it comes to money everything else goes south. No respect for nature or visitors thar are being treated as walking money and nothing else. Please put an end to this mentality. Think twice before you decide to spend your money and time there. Do not become an accomplice to...
