Everything in this beach has written "private" all over it, literally and figuratively.
Transport: The road to the beach is a disaster. There is so much dirt, you can count that you will have to wash the car afterwards. During the season, if the risk of fire is level 4 or 5, the road is closed and you can forget getting to the beach via road (maybe it's available via water).
Parking: The first parking you will see (also the closest to the beach) has "free" sign at the entrance. That "free" only refers to people willing to pay for the sunbeds. There are two men on the parking, controlling if someone is caring their own beach equipment. If they see someone caring the umbrella for the sun, they will immediately shout at you and run after you. They will "kindly" explain that if you carry your own umbrella, you need to park somewhere else.
The beach: The beach itself is small, but beautiful. The ground is made from small white marble stones and the color of the sea is really unique. If you want to use the sunbeds, it will be charged 25€ per person, or 50€ per set (two sunbeds and umbrella). One drink per person is included in the price. There is small part of the beach where you can place your own umbrella, but you should get there as early as possible, since it becomes crowded easily. At 11AM it was so crowded, we couldn't get to the water, without stepping on someone (we were also stepped on couple of times). The water is very dirty in first 10-15m from shorem. Most of the people are in that area. After that, the water is much better. The toilet is 5min away walking up the hill. Also, one hilarious thing is that showers are also charged (0.50€ per shower). The beach is really too crowded and sometimes you can see things you really don't want to see. Maybe it's worth it to come in the morning, take a quick swim and go somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend it for the whole day stay at the beach.
There are definitely better beaches in Thassos. I think everybody should see this beach once, but I will probably not go there...

Dirt road, but good enough for a average height car.
Vathy beach is to the right, small beautiful sandy beach surrounded with pine trees. Crystal clear water. No food, no sunbeds and umbrellas. 1 km from Porto Vathy.
Porto Vathy beach is in the middle, well organised, big beach with sunbeds and umbrellas(15e min consumption, average prices). Marble is so white, that creates nice bright blue-green water. Good for swimming, because is deep right away. Also you have nice parking lot, toilet, showers and dressing room.
Marble beach(Saliara) is well organised, min consumption 10e per 1 person.Beautiful color of the sea. There is a big parking.
To all of 3 beaches you can get by car from 2 or 3 ways. Dirty road with lots of dust, but relatively not so bumpy. If you take the road from 4-5 from Limenas, you will get down straight to the middle - on the Porto Vathy. From there, on the left is Marble beach that you can take it by foot(400m) and Vathy is 1km from there on the right when you look towards the sea.
Just marble! Worth visiting. If nothing else, then just because of the color of the...
Read moreDefinitely one of those places that look better on Instagram than in reality. If you come from the South of the island, do yourself(and your car) a favor and go a few extra kilometers for the road to the quarry via Makriammos. If you enter via Chrysi Ammoudia you will have 7 km of rock to go through with average speeds of 8-9 km/h. It took 40 minutes to reach the 3 beaches(Vahti, Porto Vahti and Saliara). Beaches were packed with people, very lively and loud. Prices are through the roof. Only plus is the color of the water, it's really beautiful, but full of fine sand and dust, if you bring a mask good luck, you can't even see your own feet when you dive. The water is so full you can hardly not bump into someone. Porto Vahti is abandoned by the bar owners and the beach is super dirty, people leave their garbage everywhere. There was even a dead dolphin on the beach and it smelled like putrid carrion... We knew we wouldn't like the beach but still decided to go and have a look. Moral of the story, trust your instincts and stick to to smaller wilder beaches where you can enjoy your vacation and...
