Elatochori Ski Center — Attraction in Veria Municipality

My friends and I visited the place approximately at 14:00 o' clock ( it's operating hours are until 15:30 ) , there weren't many people around since there wasn't too much snow thus only a few ski slopes were open. As we arrived at the lifts for the upper slopes , i dropped my ski mask at the ground at about 3-4 meters from where the lifts start their route , i tried to call an employee to pick it up but there was no response because he didn't seem to hear me. Soon we arrived at the top of the lift's route , i talked to an employee about my loss and so he went into the small house where the phone was to give a call to his co-workers at the bottom route of the lift to let them know that i dropped my mask , he got out of the house and he told me that he informed his co-workers and i shouldn't be worried about it. I repeatedly asked him if I should get the lift again to go get the mask myself and his answer was that I should go have fun skiing because the ski center was about to close in 1 hour. After a while we got on the lifts again to get down at the bottom house where I dropped my mask. I asked some employees there about my mask and their answer was that no one informed them about it ,thus the employee that reassured me by saying that he informed his co-workers, he actually never did. It was a fault that I trusted the staff , which in the end told me that it's not their responsibility to look for their client's personal belongings ( I never asked that) especially since they were busy serving other customers ( there were about 20 people maximum at the ski center ). I'm almost sure that my mask was stolen by a staff member . I'm WARNING you to be really careful about your personal belongings if you decide to visit that...

Elatochori ski resort is nearby Thessaloniki so it's suitable for a quick one day trip! Usually it's busy on weekends but not that crowded on weekdays so try to avoid weekends.

I'm a beginner and it's suitable for beginners for sure. There are several slopes and routes. If it's too cold and icy, avoid the Green/Beginners Route since you have to ski through lots of ice and it's not that enjoyable. My suggestion is to stay on top of the mountain and get the plate lifts again and again. You may use the chair lift to go down in the end.

Πήγαμε με την παρέα μου περίπου στις 2 ηωρα ( έκλεινε στις 3:30) ,το χιονοδρομικό άδειο περίπου 10 -20 άτομα γιατί δεν είχε και πολλά χιόνια δούλευαν μόνο οι πάνω πίστες ( κάτω είχε χώμα ) . Φτάνουμε στο λίφτ να ανέβουμε πάνω και μόλις ξεκινάει το λιφτ στα 2-3 μέτρα μου πέφτει η μάσκα του σκι ( αξίας 100€ ) φωνάζω έναν κύριο που δούλευε στο λιφτ να την μαζέψει αλλά δεν με άκουσε . Φτάνουμε στο τέλος του λιφτ και λέω σε έναν εργαζόμενο πάνω να καλέσει κάτω με τον ασύρματο και να τους πεις να την κρατήσουν να πάω κάτω να την πάρω . Μπαίνει λοιπόν το παιδί μέσα στο σπιτάκι που έχουν και κάνει πως μιλάει , βγαίνει έξω και του λέω να πάω μα την πάρω ; Να ξανά κατέβω ; Μου λέει άργησες δεν έχεις πολύ ώρα πάνε κάνε σκι και η μάσκα θα είναι εκεί την βλέπουν από κάτω , κάνω εγώ σκι εφόσον με καθησύχασε και κατεβαίνω να πάρω την μάσκα μου , η μάσκα πουθενά. Πηγαίνω ρωτάω τα άτομα στο αρχικό σπιτάκι που ανέβηκα και έπεσε η μάσκα και μου λένε δεν μίλησε ποτέ κανείς μαζί τους από πάνω και δεν ενημερώθηκαν . Εμένα δεν μου είπε ποτέ ότι δεν απάντησε κανείς . Κατεβαίνει κάτω να βρούμε λύση στο τέλος της βάρδιας και μου έλεγε την δίκη του ιστορία που ήταν άκυρη γιατί είχα και αλλά άτομα δίπλα μου και του λέω πες ότι είναι έτσι όπως τα λες γιατί δεν μου είπες δεν απάντησε κανείς κατέβα ψάξε και με καθησύχασες να κάνω σκι . Λάθος που εμπιστεύτηκα το προσωπικό του χιονοδρομικού που μου είπε δεν είναι δουλειά μας να ψάχνουμε τα αντικείμενα σας ( που δεν ζήτησα κάτι τέτοιο ) και είχαμε κόσμο ( εδώ γελάμε γιατί ήταν άδειο το χιονοδρομικό ) και με βάζει σε σκέψεις ότι μπορεί να κλάπηκε από αυτούς γι αυτό ΝΑ ΠΡΟΣΕΧΕΤΕ πολύ τα προσωπικά σας αντικείμενα .
