The Vikos–Aoös National Park is a national park in the region of Epirus in northwestern Greece. The park, founded in 1973, is one of ten national parks in mainland Greece and is located 30 kilometres north of the city of Ioannina in the northern part of the Pindus mountain range.

One of the most spectacular , natural , virgin areas i have seen . Still unspoilt historical great scenery great food and amazing hiking opportunities for all tastes. Some very nice hotels also. Truly recomended for nature lovers who enjoy getting away from crouded places in central europe

One of the most beautiful landscapes in Greece! Great combination of mountains, rivers, spectacular Vikos gorge, forests, small lakes at high altitudes and villages with stone built houses! Excellent choice for trail/hiking activities!

Τα εντυπωσιακά φαράγγια του Βίκου και του Αώου συνθέτουν εξαιρετικής αισθητικής τοπία. Ρεύματα και ποτάμια, όπως ο Βοϊδομάτης, ο Αώος και ο Βενέτικος, δημιουργούν ένα εντυπωσιακό υδρογραφικό δίκτυο. Οι ορεινές λίμνες της Τύμφης, του Σμόλικα και Φλέγγας, γνωστές ως “Δρακόλιμνες” αποτελούν τις νοτιότερες ορεινές λίμνες της Ευρώπης, υπολείμματα από την Εποχή των Παγετώνων. Τα δασικά οικοσυστήματα, από τα μεγαλύτερα της χώρας, και ένας μεγάλος αριθμός σπάνιων και ενδημικών ειδών φυτών και ζώων, αποτελούν ένα χώρο υψηλής αξίας βιοποικιλότητας. Αρχαία αξιοθέατα και μνημεία, πέτρινες γέφυρες και κτίρια με παραδοσιακή αρχιτεκτονική, συμπληρώνουν το μοναδικό τοπίο του Εθνικού Πάρκου Βόρειας Πίνδου.

Fantastic nature, great for trecking. As usual, go out in the morning to avoid the midday heat. Plenty of natural springs along some of the hikes, with potable water
