An amazing experience with stunning views... but be aware that it will take some confident driving on slightly rocky off road sections with no tar. You can get there with a car, but it can be a bit bumpy.
Also, if you're coming from the south or west of the island, take note that despite what Google Maps says, DO NOT try and get there from the west side (via Vrontonero Beach). You must go via Argassi side which is approaching from the east and heading west up the hill.
It's a beautiful old monastery set on a hill with amazing views. It's like stepping back in time.
There's a guy who runs a refreshment stop near the top. We drove by it, intending to stop there on the way back, but when we got to the top, he arrived a few minutes after us and opened up the Chapel for us to go in and take some photos. It was beautiful.

There is a large flat opening part way up where you could park, from here I belive its roughly 2.5km to the top. There are signs saying 'Skopos' to keep you on track. There's a small stop 200m from the monastery where you can buy refreshments (however I was there early in the morning so it was closed).
Overall a worth while trip and I'd have been sad to have missed it. The views on the hike and at the top are stunning and the remains of the monastery are an intriguing historic gem...

Ok, it is a little off-road, but if you drive slowly and carefully, you can get to the top of the mountain without any issues with a standard car. We were greeted by this typical Greek lady. She tries to speak a little English, very charming. This lady opened the doors to the church. Around the church, you can walk around and enjoy a fantastic view of several parts of the island. We enjoyed our drinks and ice cream on the terrace under the trees. Follow the road signs of Skopos mountain. See photos. Free entrance. Just have something to drink. They will be...
