The Stone & Man Project was the creative idea of some 19 Nordic artists from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Greenland. Between 1993 and 1994 these artists, including one of Greenland’s leading artists, Aka Hoegh, created an open air art/sculpture gallery comprised of a series of carvings of faces, whales, fish and other traditional designs into boulders and lichen-covered rock faces in the town of Qaqortoq.
