My wife and I had the absolute PLEASURE of going on the waterfall excursion with our guides, Beetle & Danny. The guys took us to three different waterfalls which we rode to in the back of a pick up truck equipped with comfortable seats and bars to hold on to. As we worked our way across the island to each of the different falls, our guide pointed out important landmarks of Grenada, explained about their way of life, and educated us about the agriculture of the island as drove up through the mountains, down the countryside, and along the eastern coast making this not only the adventure of a lifetime seeing waterfalls— but also an amazing tour of Grenada. For the waterfalls, Seven Sisters was little bit of a hike down a hill and was muddy, but Beetle went above and beyond to make sure no one tumbled down the hill, holding hands and guiding us on the best pathway through the rain forest to the beautiful waterfall where we could relax and take a swim. We also waded through beautiful streams to get to the waterfalls and he skillfully guided us through and went out of his way to take pictures of us in the falls. This excursion was our favorite part of our trip and we HIGHLY recommend adding it to your stay on the island to get a feel of the island from those who...
Read moreAlthough we got there an hour before our reservation, the guys at Funtastic immediately attended to us. Please note that we visited at the beginning of September, outside of the tourist season and we were the only visitors there at that time.
The river ride was very fun. We enjoyed it a lot. It was a 45 minute ride with a nice balance of floating through rapids and rocks and also some lazy river, relaxing areas. The scenery was gorgeous. The two guys that took us down the river were very attentive (thanks Blue & Ken!). They know the river course very well and they really do make the effort to ensure that you're having a good time.
There's a small café/ mini shop on the compound with snacks and drinks. Phillip at the cafe was welcoming. Unfortunately we didn't get to try their food but they were making oil down while we were there (a Saturday). He offered to make us a different meal as we couldn't wait for the oil down but we really wanted oil down lol so he recommended we go to Good Food in Grenville, which was about a 10 min drive away. It was definitely worth it.
All in all, river tubing in Grenada...
Read moreThe river tubing itself was fun but was poorly organised. Firstly, it was pouring of rain and had read that when it rains it would be cancelled. I had to phone up to confirm this rather than being told it’s still going ahead. We get to the meeting point and no one is there, had to ring head office who was confused and had to contact the guide. The guide was 20 minutes late and then had to get the equipment set up so didn’t start until 30 minutes after the original time with no apology.
When doing the river tubing itself, we were told that we needed to stop halfway and walk around the rocks as they didn’t have an additional guide waiting for us at the bottom of one of the courses to catch us as it’s dangerous to do alone.
After we were done, we were not given a drink/rum punch which was supposed to be included within the excursion. When asked about this, the guide said he had forgot to bring...
