Aquaventura — Attraction in Escuintla

This seemed like it was going to be a really fun visit, until we got stuck in two different slides. First, my husband and daughter were on the blue slide, got stuck after the first turn, and had to push and walk the raft down. We thought it was a fluke, and I took my daughter down the orange slide, also a tube. We got stuck within the first ten seconds. In pitch darkness, I had to inch the raft down while my daughter, now terrified at getting stuck a second time, was screaming. I slipped, and the raft was on top of us while I grabbed my 5 year old daughter to keep her from falling the rest of the way without me. We are all average weight, and rode the way we always ride, holding our bodies up so as not to drag. When I reported this to the manager, she did not take me seriously at all. She suggested that maybe my suit was too dry, or the raft was too dry (neither were.) When I asked if this happened often, she and the lifeguard shrugged and said "once in a while." They were definitely not running enough water down any of the slides. At one point before we got stuck, the slides were stopped while a lifeguard had to go to the control room and fix something. I would never let my children ride on these...

I love coming here with my family when I visit Guatemala. My 3rd time today I believe. Was finally able to bring my little cousins as well. Superrrr family friendly. Getting to it is a bit of a maze but just remember how you went inside to come right back out. Food is alright. Wear tanning oil if you want to get darker like me or sunscreen forsure if you don't want...

El parque muy bien. Sin embargo, los restaurantes son un asco. Un plato pequeñito cuesta hasta Q100, la higiene del restaurante deja muchísimo que desear, basura tirada en la cocina. Las que atienden super mal encaradas y pesadas como si por obligación estuviesen allí. La manipulación de alimentos pésima. Sin guantes, sin mascarilla, las papas de los clientes las tocaban con las manos, aparte que saben horrible, la ketchup, de la peor calidad para lo caro que es. Y en mi estadía, unos usuarios tuvieron que tirar 3 ceviches porque estaban malos.

Por otro lado, el personal del área de piscinas y parques SUPER amables. Consejo... Vayan pero lleven conida pq la de...
