Dino Park — Attraction in Retalhuleu

3.5 stars. We visited this park today and I have to say that I am very impressed with the park, my kids and my whole family enjoyed the time we spend together there, BUT feels like is missing something, a little bit more of emotion, adrenaline and excitement, it’s very cool all the dinosaurs but they are super slow and kind of boring, the playground is VERY old and in bad condition, the entry alone for adults is Q70 I personally think it’s a bit expensive, considering that there is not too much to do for adults, the park looks like it needs a little bit of care, it’s Monday and there wasn’t much people which it was nice. Oh and last PLEASE bring your mosquito repellent it’s insane the amount of mosquito bites we got today! And whoever is the owner of this place needs to have a little bit of remodeling ASAP and when I come back to Guatemala I’ll be back to the park and give the 5 stars for the place, for now I give 5 stars for the people who works there only, they made our day a very special day, everyone who works here was super...

Today is 11/16/2022 around 11:00AM. Entrance per adult is Q40 and Q20 for my kid. They provided me with a free-to- use wheelchair and was charged Q30 for a kid’s stroller. When we went in made a right into the carnivore dinosaurs. In my opinion if you go this way is the right one. They have rides or amusements that are paid with “huellas” and are bought at the restaurant. Some rides are worth about Q40 maxed and Q5 the most affordable. La última vez que había ido fue en enero de 2020 y me llevé una gran decepción de lo que cambió para mal.

Los animatronics principales siguen siendo lo que vale la pena sin embargo me cuestiono si haber pagado Q170- por dos adultos y un niño valió la pena. Salí con la sensación de haber tirado mi dinero.

El parque ha crecido de una forma desordenada sin una línea clara de diseño gráfico entre atracciones que mantenga coherencia. Han llenado de “juegos” todo el parque con un look de esquilandia ochentero en gacho.

Se mantiene la calidad de los animatronics principales pero se llenó de juegos complementarios sin sentido más que el de buscar cobros adicionales.

El que sea que tomase el control del 2020 para acá no puedo describirlo de otra forma que “ashumó” el parque y lo abarató en apariencia.

Salí en menos de 30 minutos con la sensación de haber desperdiciado tiempo y dinero. Podría haber sido mi visión crítica de adulto pero la primera en comentar fue mi hija diciendo que ya no quería volver a venir porque habían arruinado el bonito parque que recordaba de más pequeña.

El restaurante del lugar con una apariencia de cafetería de parque central de pueblo que no invitaba a sentarse a pesar de que llevábamos hambre.

Ojalá se den cuenta que su atractivo eran los animatronics y que puedan recuperar el rumbo para una nueva generación contratando un diseñador o arquitecto.

Dejo 2 estrellas solo por los animatronics. El resto del parque en su hibrido de fiesta de pueblo o mañana deportiva de colegio queriéndole sacar a uno dinero en atracciones mediocres se merece un cero. El intento de show musical de dinosaurios daba pena. Un tiki room wannabe que ni siquiera puedo decir “a la tortrix” si no que “a la nachos Diana”

Me quedó con el recuerdo de lo que fue....
