Fantastic but very bracing February walk in a Force 8 wind. Not for the faint-hearted, but enjoyable if you like that sort of thing. Very quiet and peaceful route with no vehicular access. Great for dog walking. Take a flask in the car in winter, to reward yourself when you get back to the car park (15 minute walk), as the café is not always open out of season. History of the âringâ dates from the 1700's when the circular area was created as a meeting place for statesmen.
