Four of us went on an 18-20person boat tour, departing from Parika. Among the many (stop+depart) points along the tour was Baracara Falls. When we left the boat and headed toward the falls, it was partly sunny and humid. We had to cross a stream (slightly above ankle height) along with a few muddy puddles. Overall, it took ~10mins to reach the falls When we arrived at the Falls, it began to rain lightly which turned into a 15min deluge! Welcome to the Amazon. Afterwards, the rain stopped & it was cloudy before we started heading back to the boat. The „tiny“ steams weren’t so tiny anymore and the puddles were now large! DEFINITELY bring water appropriate footwear and a hand/body towel The falls are FABULOUS, very cool to the skin and numerous photo ops, either standing above, within, or next to the falls. I loved every minute of the experience

It's a nice hike up to the waterfall, and the water colour is something i've never seen elsewhere. Be on the lookout for unique wildlife. Be careful, rocks surrounding the falls are extremely slippery. Another Must-see in this special country.

This is a must-see if you ever visit Guyana, South America. The view was incredible and provided an unforgettable experience. We arrived at Parika Ferry Stelling to board before starting our journey down the Essequibo River.

A trip to Baracara falls was part of the overnight package offered by Aruwai Resort.

The falls was so refreshing and welcoming on a hot day... And the best part, there weren't many people as it's only a trip for the guests.

The downside, there's no change area...
