The place is still under construction and growing in some areas, but it is a nice stop if you are visiting Tela. The current aquarium is small but quite pretty and the guide gives a very interesting speech about the mission of Telamarine. The restaurante part is nicely decorated and they offer good food and drinks, so def recommended to spend the afternoon. My only wish is the for the souvenir store they collaborated more with local artists to create marine conservation products. Most products are good for kids but it kinda doesn't match the place in my opinion.

Tela Marine is an incredible project, and completely unprecedented in all of Honduras. It aims to be an aquarium that is 100% free to the people. Above the aquarium is a restaurant with some of the best food that Tela has to offer. After you eat, you can go downstairs and learn about the local coral reef systems that are still thriving off the Honduran coast. Tela Marine is about spreading knowledge and passion for our beautiful oceans.

If you’re visiting the beautiful beaches in Tela, you can’t miss this place! It’s a FREE aquarium with a great cause: Saving and caring for Honduras’ marine species. You get a 10-minute self-guided tour and there’s a gift shop, a coffee shop, and a restaurant. I must add that the food is absolutely delicious—The flavors, the presentation, the traditional taste…You need to try it!

Great experience for the ocean lovers! Beginning with the 30min free tour through the aquarium, and then a high quality restaurant for tasting one of the best local seafood there is, all this in front of a jungle landscape!! What else can you ask for a afternoon adventure. Its a bit pricy though, but once you try the chefs creations you will understand

Antes que nada LA ENTRADA ES GRATIS . No me espere encontrarme con este lugar en Tela y la verdad acepto que tenía muy bajas expectativas. La espera fue mínima unos 3-5 mins , el personal es muy amable y amigable . Tienen variedad de pequeños tanques con varios tipos de peces y demás criaturas marinas. Hay también una área donde uno puede tocar a ciertas especies y la verdad creo que para los niños puede resultar ser algo bien interesante y hasta divertido. En su segundo piso hay más animales pero estos en si son animales que viven en la selva. Tienen una cafetería muy bonita y con muy buenos productos todo muy rico. El lugar cuenta con una área social o de eventos si así se le puede decir con varias mesas y toldos. Se nota que hay planes de construir aún más ya que a las afueras se miraban estanques que están construyendo. Espero este acuario siga creciendo aún más y este abierto por muchos años según pregunté han ido creciendo poco a poco y espero sigan así y consigan aún más apoyo.

Beautiful little Aquarium fir free and with a nice idea/ destination! As they are constructing a bigger place connected to the actual one it's going to be eaven more interesting in the future Restaurant: just sad, that in the restaurant is just one dish offered that's vegetarian... and exactly this one wasn't available today...
