This place is a nice place to Adventure. It really is. This is 1.5 hours from San Pedro Sula. And 2 Hours from the San Pedro Sula Airport. GPS will take you right to the place. Park fee is about $4.00 a person. You can go swimming there in cold water. They have picnic areas and tables. You can tent camp if you want. Tents are set up right up close to the water or at a flat grassy area behind the restaurant. That is awesome. At night you can hear the water as it flows into the waterfall. Just wonderful! The price for the tent spot is about $5.00 night. You can also rent a cabin. They are awesome looking by the way, but the nightly rate is $100.00 a person and you get discounts as more guests are added to the numbers of occupants. With that, you can swim in the pool just for cabin guests, or you can swim in the stream. You can go zip lining as well. The price is about $25.00 a person. You have 7 stops where 4 of those stops go over the waterfall. That is breath taking. Get that camera ready! You can also get hiking tour to a cave behind the waterfall and they take 14 people at a time because the cave isn't that big to hold more than 14. That is about $13.00 a person. That was nice. You've never gone behind a waterfall in a cave? You should. It's amazing. Or you can do river tubing. Price is about $25.00. I didn't do that. I didn't have the time. As I said there a lot to do there. The restaurant has a huge nice level grass area you can just sit there and enjoy the view, play soccer, they have some small indoor goal there, you can bring your own horse shoe, frisbee, bocce ball, etc. You can bring your own food or buy there. Now this is place I wish I had an extra day in my schedule to just enjoy more of the swimming.
Update: June 10, 2022. If you want to rent just the spot for your tent is L.150 about $6.00 per person. We stayed 2 nights. If you want to rent the tent (8x12) L.500 about $20.00 a night. We did the tour behind the waterfall. L.300.00 about $12.00 per person. It is challenging to do this. The Adrenaline kicks in as you get closer to the waterfall because it gets more challenging to make it to the end. You can't see a thing as the water pours hard on you while you are fighting the current, and the slippery rocks and at the same time holing to the wire. You then climb a latter which you can't see because the water cover that ladder. You just have to feel it and climb while homding to the wire. We then came back the same way we went it and at the end, we jumped into a a pool from about 50 feet high. We then went ricer tubing and that was relaxing. You can rent water shoes or...
Read morePulhapanzak is an absolute must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and hiking aficionados. The panoramic vistas are nothing short of breathtaking, and Mita's cabins elevate the experience to exceptional heights. Nestled strategically atop the mountain, where the river embarks on its journey towards the falls, these cabins offer unparalleled views and idyllic spots for swimming or lounging in a hammock while sipping drinks with friends.
The cabins themselves are impeccably maintained, boasting modern amenities like air conditioning and hot water. Their cozy furnishings provide comfort and relaxation. A central highlight is the expansive fire pit situated in the heart of the campground, a gathering place where you can engage in delightful conversations with fellow guests, savor drinks, or simply soak in the melodious symphony of the nearby river.
Pulhapanzak feels like a genuine paradise, providing the perfect escape to rejuvenate your mind and spirit, leaving behind the cares of the world. During our visit, my husband and I had the privilege of meeting the owner, Mity, who radiates warmth, personality, and hospitality. She shared the remarkable history of the land, a cherished legacy from her great-grandfather, which she and her son have transformed into the haven it is today. Mity's dedication and passion for the family business shine through in the exceptional treatment of her guests and the tireless efforts of her staff to create unforgettable experiences.
We're already planning our return trip for next year and intend to make it a recurring retreat whenever our busy schedules permit. Pulhapanzak has left an indelible mark...
Read moreI visited Pulhapanzak Waterfall cabins with my wife, kids and in-laws in January 2017. We had great expectations for our stay near the Pulhapanzak waterfall but left the place with rather mixed feelings. ||The location of the cabins is great - just next to the river - the cabins are nice and clean, Pulhapanzak by night is quiet and peaceful and by day you can experience the waterfall through various exciting means - for example by zipline over the waterfall, hiking into and under the waterfall (very extreme) and riding rubber rings down the river. The not quite so nice part of the experience though is the fact that our expectation was to find an exclusive pristine area whereas in reality we found an area that is drowning in people by day. This bears it's marks, as the facilities and area around the river appears worn down by the many daily visitors. Tubing the river it also becomes apparent that the river is heavily populated and used upstream which is noticeable by the amounts of trash you bump into on the way. Very few positive things can be said about the food, as the main focus here is clearly to serve cheap food to the masses of people and after a few days you long for something better, which is unfortunately an impossibility. There's a lots of staff around, but their attitudes range from friendly and ready to help, to those who seemingly couldn't care less if you were there or not. Finally it's a curiosity that a family friendly place has a kids pool (besides the bigger pool), which is too deep for small children to use. All in all we had an ok stay, but we had...
