Il Child Train si trova a Budapest, a mezz’ora dal centro della città! Ti basterà inserire 📍 Széchenyi Hill, Children’s Railway su google maps per arrivare al punto di partenza del treno! Questa linea ferroviaria è gestita da ragazzi giovanissimi, ovviamente sotto la supervisione di adulti esperti, che si rendono volontari all’apprendimento di questo lavoro pur continuando ad andare a scuola! Il prezzo del biglietto varia in base alla stagione ma non supera mai i 1400 fiorini a tratta! Importante: si paga solamente in CONTANTI! Vi consiglio di arrivare fino alla fermata di János Hegy per salire a piedi alla torre di Elisabetta, dedicata proprio alla principessa Sissi che era solita salire qui su a piedi! Standing on a 527-metre-high hilltop, the neo-Romanesque lookout tower offers stunning views of the capital and the surrounding hills. From the four terraces of the lookout tower, you can see Budapest's distinctive buildings with the naked eye, as well as the peaks of the Pilis and Visegrád Hills in the distance. The road to the lookout is also a special experience, as it can be reached by the Zugligeti Glider. The lower station of the cable car is located in Zugliget, and it follows a 1,040-metre route up to János Hill. The ride offers a wonderful panoramic view of the Buda hills, the city districts and, on a clear day, even the distant mountain ranges. Another breathtaking lookout in Budapest! This one is in my opinion the best lookout in Budapest! It's located on such a good spot that you can see everything from an amazing angle! There are also multiple ways you can get up here without a car! You can take a skilift type of escalator which is really fun and so amazingly beautiful! Or you can take the germek vasút (the children train line!) I have been up multiple times and my recommendation is to go up with tram 60 what is also so beautiful and a fun experience. Then take the children train line. And then walk up to the lookout. When you want to go down I recommend to take the skilift down and enjoy the amazing views even more!

A Jánoshegyi Erzsébet-kilátó Budapest legmagasabb pontján lévő kilátó. A kilátó napkelte és napnyugta között ingyenesen látogatható. Az 528 m magas János-hegy már a kilátó megépülése előtt is kedvelt kirándulóhely volt, a legenda szerint innen tiszta időben a Magas-Tátra csúcsait is meg lehetett pillantani. Az 1847-ben megtartott dűlőkeresztelőn Pozsonyi-hegynek nevezték el (egy másik legenda szerint a XIX. században Pozsony városáig is el lehetett látni), de ez a név nem vált elterjedté. A leghíresebb az idelátogatók közül Erzsébet királyné volt, aki 1882 során több ízben is ellátogatott a főváros legmagasabb pontjára. Ő már egy fából épült kilátóból nézett le a városra. 1902-ben a szállodatulajdonosok ipartestülete húszezer forintot ajánlott fel egy új, kőből épített kilátóhoz, így tisztelegve Erzsébet királyné emlékének. Az építési munkálatok 1908-ban kezdődtek meg Klunzinger Pál és Schulek Frigyes közös tervei alapján. A kilátót 1910. szeptember 8-án adták át a nagyközönségnek. A környékét fokozatosan szépítették, a legfontosabb beruházás az 1926-ben megvalósított állandó díszkivilágítás volt, mely az első volt hazánkban. Ennek sikerén fellelkesülve világították ki később állandóra a Halászbástyát, és az Országházat is. Az Erzsébet-kilátó kirándulók százezreit fogadta évenként a két világháború között, azonban az 1948-ban hatalomra kerülő diktatúrának nem illett bele az ideológiájába a nagy múltú épület, így mindössze egyetlen beruházást hajtottak végre rajta: egy hatalmas vörös csillagot erősítettek a legfelső szintjére. A csillag hatalmas súlya tönkretette a torony szerkezetét, és be kellett zárni. Az épület a rendszerváltás után 2001-ben a Hegyvidéki Önkormányzat kezelésébe került. Az önkormányzat átfogó felújítási munkát végzett a kilátón, amely 2005 óta ismét a régi hangulatában fogadja a látogatóit. A kilátó épületében büfé várja a látogatókat.

The lookout itself gets 4 stars, but the overall journey and lookout itself gets 5. We took a metro, then the cog railway, then the Children's railway and then the tram (to get back to town) and absolutely loved the day away from the bustle of the city center. The lookout itself has fabulous views across Budapest and the surrounding hills. Going in winter, it was fairly quiet and the trees were all bare (so we could actually see further) but I imagine in spring time this is absolutely gorgeous. Well worth the day out away from the city if you're on a long weekend.

Elizabeth Lookout tower 🗼 is fantastic place in Budapest, it is not to miss top (Bird's-eye) view place of the City Skyline. One can reach it via taking tram 4,6 or 17 upto szell Kálmán tér and then taking another Bus 21A,or 21 to normafa and from the last stop one have to walk upto 2.6km to reach to this place. There is another way but easiest not cheapest, gojng to zuliget from Nyugati train station, taking a bus right from Westend end, 91,it will drop u upto libego and from there pay around 1600 ft to use chairlift and reach directly to Elizabeth Lookout tower 🗼

The Elizabeth Lookout is a historic lookout tower on János Hill above Budapest. Built in 1911, the tower was named after Empress Elisabeth, wife of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Frigyes Schulek was the architect. The tower is near Budapest's District XII, and may be reached from the Széll Kálmán tér of Budapest.
