Perfect area for urban explorers with endless creepy corridors and tunnels. However, some are vandalised and littered with trash, being about as cared for by the staff as an average crack shack. Stairs can be slippery and are quite steep. The exhibits however are mostly quite neat, but the facility lacks signs and directions, making it very easy to get lost for the average Joe. Wouldn't recommend for smaller children as it can take hours to explore the tunnels (unless you only stick to the exhibits). Said tunnels are also quite dusty, but fascinating to...

You can buy a combo ticket with star fortress, which is 5 minutes down the road. This one is quite huge, there are 2 still lives inside the catacombs, otherwise it's quite unused. Outside you find some soviet era armored vehicles. At the back entrance, river side there's some nice makett ships and exhibitions of fishermen stuff and army and civilian boat history. Combine this with the nearby start fortress for sure, to get your money's worth. Might consider bringing your own food and drinks to both, it seems...

Méreteiben grandiózus, letisztult egyszerűségében lélegzetelállító a Komáromban található Monostori-erőd.

Felette hol a királyok, hol egyes főurak rendelkeztek. A Török Birodalom terjeszkedése során 1541-ben Buda török kézre került, ezért I. Ferdinánd Bécs védelme érdekében elrendelte Komárom várának...

A bit shabby, lot of empty rooms in a rather bad shape. But despite this it amazed me how huge this place is, so that somewhat explains the previous negative opinion. There are several interesting places, such as the casemates and different exhibitions about the history of the place or the hungarian military. Nice experience nonetheless if one is interested in history.

Most likely I would've looked at the experience in another way if I hadn't visited Prevnost Komarno the other day. There is no guidance. If there is, then it's probably optional. This place definitely has a history but you don't get to know anything about it. You get a small book but it tells you nothing. The place itself is like the other fortress.
