Lébényi Szent Jakab-templom — Attraction in Mosonmagyaróvári járás

Tisztelt Plébánia! Nagyon szép élmény volt a templomot látnom, de a 3 nyelvű tábla téved, amikor Saint Jacob" nevet ad a templomnak. A Jakab angolul James, ki is másoltam az angol nyelvű Biblia egy részét:

Szerencsésen túlélte ugyan a tatárjárást és a mosoni várat elpusztító Ottokár cseh király 1271. évi hadjáratát, de amikor a Bécs ellen vonuló törökök 1529-ben felgyújtották, boltozata beomlott. Legnagyobb veszedelmét mégis a győri várkapitány 1563. évben kiadott és megtagadott azon utasítása jelentette, hogy a vár megerősítésére a romos lébényi templomot bontsák le, és kőanyagát szállítsák Győrbe. Aztán elkövetkezett a szomorúemlékű 1683-as év, amikor a török Kara Musztafa nagyvezír parancsnoklásával ismét Bécs ellen indult. A visszavonuláskor feldúlták a kolostort, és a templomot is felgyújtották. Kitakarodásuk után az akkor birtokos jezsuiták megkezdték az épület kijavítását, két tornyára sátortetőt is húztak, és csaknem száz évig ezek mutatták az utat a vármegyehatáron vándorlóknak, az utazóknak. Mária Teréziának a jezsuita közösségeket feloszlató 1773-as rendelete után a templom és a kolostor fél évszázadon keresztül gazda nélkül maradt. Az 1830-ban lebontott kolostor köveit a komáromi vár építésénél használták fel, földszintjéből pedig plébániát alakítottak ki. Tíz évvel később, az 1841-es nagy tűzvészben mindkét falubeli templom akkora károkat szenvedett, hogy az egész megye összefogásával is csak úgy-ahogy tudták helyreállítani. Ekkor új, barokkos sisakok kerültek a tornyokra, amelyek azonban megint rövid ideig, a nagy restaurálás befejezéséig maradtak meg." Az múlt évezredben restaurálták :1862–65 közötti és 1872-1879 között. "A kapu szemöldökkövén úgynevezett kronosztikonos latin felirat: eCCe. reVIXI et saLVs MIhI. DenVo. faCta.est – íme megújultam és a teljesség (épség) számomra újra megadatott. A mondat kiemelkedő, római számoknak megfelelő betűiből kiolvasható készítésének (1879) éve. A Szent Jakab zarándokút (El Camino) magyarországi szakaszának megvalósulásakor az volt az elképzelés, Szent Jakab apostol tiszteletére egy olyan úton lehessen zarándokolni, mely hasonlít a spanyol Caminóhoz és egy magyar vonatkozású Jakab-emlékhelyet is érint. A választás a lébényi, 800 éves, román kori Szent Jakab templomra esett, ahol idősebb Szent Jakab apostol földi maradványai vannak. Lébényből lehetőség van tovább zarándokolni Ausztria felé, Wolfsthalba, így az út kiépítésével a magyar szakasz is bekapcsolódik az El Camino útvonalába. Ezt jelzi a templom előtti mérföldkő is. A zarándokút jelvénye a fésűkagyló, amit az út mentén mindenütt megtalálunk. Ma már egyre többen vannak, akik azért indulnak útnak, hogy kiszakadjanak a hétköznapokból. Van, aki önmagát és a helyét keresi a világban. Van, aki válaszút előtt áll, kiutat keres az élet útvesztőiből. Akad, akit a teljesítmény motivál. Mélységes tisztelet azok felé, akik a teljes utat vagy annak bárhol, bármely szakaszát...
