The Dera Gorge (Dera-szurdok) offers a pleasant and easy hiking route, perfect for families and casual hikers. One of its biggest advantages is accessibility: there is a spacious parking area near the starting point, and several designated fire pits make it convenient for picnics or barbecues after the hike.

The trail itself is not too demanding, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty of the gorge without much effort. However, there are a couple of areas for improvement. The trail markings at the starting point could be displayed more clearly, as it can be a little confusing to find the exact way at first. Additionally, more information boards or maps along the route would be very helpful, especially since mobile reception in the forest often drops out.

Overall, it’s a lovely and accessible hike with just a few minor drawbacks that, if improved, would make the experience...

This is one of my absolute favorite hiking places in Hungary! 🥾⛰️❤️

A beautiful hiking trail with plenty of wooden bridges as well as some wooden stairs. You have to go over the bridges because the path ends on one side & continues on the other on multiple occasions.

The trail is under the shades of the trees which makes it ideal for a summer hike. 🌳😊🌿

You can hear the constant flow of water which is very nice & makes you feel relaxed.💧

We went on a weekday & it was quiet.

It's suitable for walking dogs provided they don't pull on the leash. We walked ours off-leash, only because it...

Nice place for a couple of hours walk. Good for kids. Situated in a national park the hiking path can be approached in two ways. I would recommend going up hill on the blue stripe sign, along the gorge and coming downhill via the blue triangle path which goes along the top of the hill. There are few spots with benches where one can have a rest and I saw even some fire places. However, being a national park I don’t think it’s legally allowed to start fires. In two or three places you have to cross the river so goretex shoes are recommended. Expect mud during winter and...

This little trek is perfect to spend your sunny afternoon in the nature. It only takes roughly an hour to take the full route, but the scenery can be quite breathtaking with its bridges and flora. You can even take this trip in rainy conditions, however, you should be really careful with the slippery steep surfases and mud. On the other hand I do not reccomend you to take this route with small children, because the briges are in bad conditions and sometimes you need to cross the stream to follow the trail where you can easly get your shoes wet.
