The Dera Gorge (Dera-szurdok) offers a pleasant and easy hiking route, perfect for families and casual hikers. One of its biggest advantages is accessibility: there is a spacious parking area near the starting point, and several designated fire pits make it convenient for picnics or barbecues after the hike.
The trail itself is not too demanding, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty of the gorge without much effort. However, there are a couple of areas for improvement. I would recommend going up hill on the blue stripe sign, along the gorge and coming downhill via the blue triangle path which goes along the top of the hill. There are few spots with benches where one can have a rest and I saw even some fire places. However, being a national park I don’t think it’s legally allowed to start fires. In two or three places you have to cross the river so goretex shoes are recommended. Expect mud during winter and...
