Hlíðarfjall — Attraction in Akureyrarbær

We were quite unlucky with the weather so was a waste of 13000 ISK each. It became windy very quickly so within 45 mins of starting they shut down all the lifts for the day. Something to bear in mind if you're a tourist going for a 1 day rental.

It's obviously a tough job for the staff to predict and work around the changeable conditions but felt they could have been a bit more transparent and realistic about the unreliability of the skiing before selling us the passes. They said they might have to shut the higher black and red runs later in the day, but no mention of the greens and blues potentially needing to...

Great place to learn and some interesting very well pisted slopes, although short by Alps standards, which make for easy skiing even when visibility is low.
