Djúpivogur Lighthouse is a charming and picturesque spot, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding fjord and mountains. The bright red color of the lighthouse contrasts beautifully with the rugged Icelandic landscape, making it a perfect photo stop. It’s a peaceful place to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and take in the natural beauty of Djúpivogur. The short walk to the lighthouse is easy and enjoyable, with the opportunity to spot local wildlife along the way. If you’re exploring the area, a visit to this quaint lighthouse is a must.

So this one eluded me a little and I am disappointed! We couldnt quite find a road that connected and I see now from previous reviews that its walkable from Eggin i Gledivik and that its climbable too! Oh woe is me! Im sad to have missed it so I do hope that the next reader will learn from my oversights and get to enjoy it fully...its so cute! I was searching for it under the wrong name so didnt find info about it until too late! Better luck to those who come after me.

There’s a very nice lighthouse close to the city. Google doesn’t lead to the best spot, but once you get there you can figure out where to start hiking. I left the car next to a warehouse and walked up through the grass. Once you reach that point, the path becomes visible. The walk itself is very short, 5–10 minutes at most. The lighthouse is quite small, but you can go up to the top. It’s very bright, which makes it look great in photos and against the grass.
