Only hiked up to the first waterfall. It’s an easy trail, but straight uphill. Took us I think an hour round trip? There’s a little bridge around the first waterfall so we just did that little loop. We ended up there during a little rain/snow storm, so it was very windy and the higher up we got, the windier it got and the rain turned to sleet then snow. Read moreThis a lovely waterfall tumbling over basalt columns making for a dramatic scene. It's about midway on the trail to Hengifoss, and easier to access than most other basalt waterfalls, which are uncommon. I recommend taking the trail up one side and down the other, which is another unusual feature of these falls. There's a WC in the parking lot, and stray sheep if you're lucky. The food truck was closed (Oct), and the eastside trail is undergoing improvements. Tackle this one early in the day before the clouds roll in if you're...
