Such a cute little church with a striking red roof that stands out beautifully against the Icelandic landscape. The view from the top is amazing—you can see the whole town of Vík and the ocean in the distance. Peaceful, picturesque, and definitely worth a quick stop for a photo and a...

Just metres away from the Reynisfjara beach. Looked a tad dirty as compared to other churches I had seen. The church being close to the beach, probably doesn't have the same charm as some of the others do. But surely the surrounding landscape makes it look...

Beautiful little red-roofed church overlooking Vík and the black sand beaches. Peaceful spot with great photo opportunities, especially at sunset. Free to visit, with parking nearby—worth a quick stop if you’re exploring...

Spring is almost here! Which means it’s time to squeeze on all those winter bucket list experiences before it’s too late! 10 Iceland winter bucket list experiences to book asap 👇 1. Go on a guided ice hike on the Sólheimajökull Glacier. 2. Visit Reynisfjara, the Black Sand Beach and location of the Hálsanefshellir Cave with impressive basalt column formations. During the winter the sneaker waves here are CRAZY. Very cool to watch, just be careful. 3. Visit the Skógafoss waterfall. One of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, and honestly one of the most impressive waterfalls I’ve ever seen. 4. Have a spa day at Blue Lagoon. A geothermal pool experience, this water is a milky blue color due to the silica, algae, and minerals found in it. Definitely enjoy the included face mask but make sure you don’t let your hair touch the water! 5. Watch the sunset at Reyniskirkja Church. This is the same spot that is famous for it lupine fields in the spring. 6. Visit Icelandic horses. You can find them pretty anywhere along the roads. Most farms have no problem with you stopping to say hi. Just respect their wishes and do NOT feed the horses. 7. Hike Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon. A gorgeous hike, just make sure you have ice spikes in the winter! There was a park ranger there when we visited, making sure all who hiked had the proper ice spikes for a safe hike. 8. Visit the Secret Lagoon geothermal pools. Not so secret, this is almost like a community pool. But the water is amazing!! 9. Hike to the “Yoda” cave, also known as Hjörleifshöfði. 10. Hunt for the Northern Lights. Hands down one of the best experiences of my life. The very best part of seeing the lights? They weren’t supposed to show that night, but we took a chance, drove around, and totally manifested them! Singing along to the Frozen soundtrack is not required but suggested. Iceland is one of the most amazing winter trips you can possibly take. Just one of these experiences will make the trip of a lifetime! 📸: Photos taken on a women’s adventure retreat with @intothewild.adventure
