I had an absolutely amazing riding experience at Tvistur. I have gone on many guided trail rides on various trips, and this one stands out as the best. The horses were well behaved, the scenery was unreal, the guides were great and gave me feedback during the ride.

I had told the guides about my prior riding experience, so they put me on a younger horse with a soft mouth and a great tolt. We got along OK on the first half of the ride, but when we returned to the stables to drop off the beginner riders so the more experienced riders could go out for some galloping, I admitted I was feeling a bit nervous and was thinking of skipping. Instead, the guides encouraged me to switch to a more experienced horse for the remainder of the ride, and I was so glad I had that option. Cantering and galloping through the Icelandic countryside was one of the highlights of my 11 day tour through the country.

This riding outfit did the best job I've ever seen of keeping riders of various experiences safe and comfortable while having a great time. I really hope I can...

We had a lovely Ride with Tvistur. After a bit of confusion as there where numerous guests who came wirhout Booking ahead we were assigned our horses. Both me and my daughter, who is 8 and a beginner, Had horses that suited us very Well and were a great match. I Loved how eager and energetic my horse felt and felt very secure with my daughters horse as well. The area is beautiful, we went along the River among a bunch of geese and then headed up through blueberry Heath which was exiting and gave us breathtaking Views of Eyjafjördur. What truly Stands Out though was how the horses were treated. Everything was in great condition, we we're asked to brush horses before and after the ride. They even checked the hooves twice during the Rides after a Stony path. Meanwhile my little daughter (4) took " Walk" with a horse which was also a great experience for her. She also spend alot of time cuddeling the horses as they were very curious and friendly. Thank you for the great experience, we would...

What a wonderful experience! I have a horse of my own back home and getting to meet and ride Icelandic horses was one of the things I was more looking forward to when visiting Iceland. When we arrived, the tour did start a little late. But we got to help to brush and tack up our horses (Björk and Örn) before setting off with our tour guide on our 2 hour two. It was so nice to have the tour to ourselves (just my partner and I and our guide) and to get to experience the land around Dalvík and the unique disposition of the Icelandic horses. We were able to take a few breaks, which was great - I am an experienced rider, but my partner is not. We even got to pick some wild blueberries while the horses rested. My partner even got to experience a smooth gallop for the first time on this trip with his buddy Björk! :) . Overall, such a wonderful and memorable experience for us both. ...

The best part is they are very flexible and warm. We had a reservation at Polar Hestar which they cancelled it as we were 1 hr delayed due to driving conditions. So we called Tvistur and they accommodated us out of the way. Simbi and Hringur both are awesome and very welcoming. They were very patient with our kids 7yrs and 10yrs old. Answered all their questions and taught them how to care for the horses. Their prices are reasonable and customer service is 5 stars. Horse riding experience was amazing and organized. The instructors are great and taught all the basics first before heading to the big ride. Their passion is clearly seen in their work. Thank you again!!
