This was one of those impromptu stop we made following google maps and it was absolutely phenomenal. First of parking is free, in addition, you’ll get a beautiful view of the fjord from the parking lot. From the parking lot it was a short hike of about 10 minutes. We were the only people there which was rare in most places we visited in Seydisfjordur. The waterfall has several mini waterfalls flowing into a canyon. Absolutely gorgeous views.

Please do not respond to nature’s call here. We noticed several tissues- felt horrible as a...

About an hour of relatively easy walking from the town of Seyðisfjörður, this waterfall was absolutely worth the trip. Of all the waterfalls we saw during our time in Iceland, this one was by far our favorite, not the biggest, but definitely the most peaceful and least crowded, which made the experience even more special.

The walk itself was a bonus: beautiful scenery along the way, with great views and unexpected wildlife sightings, including sheep and even whales in the fjord.

We highly recommend taking the time for this hike, it’s...

Probably top 7 waterfalls for me in Iceland. It is a series of waterfalls each with unique character. It is gorgeous and i'm surprised Game of Thrones didn't pick this location to film one or 2 scenes. If you stay in Egilsatadir, it is worth the 30 minutes drive. The drive is also very beautiful. Also, climb all the way to the top to the metal plaform and there's a beautiful hidden waterfall that you will not see if you only stay at the bottom. The whole experience somehow reminds me of Milford Sound in...

Beautiful waterfall hike! Park in the lot, cross the road and follow the signs. It's a bit of a climb to the platform for the first waterfall but don't stop there! The trail flattens out. Continue to follow the yellow markers upstream to several more waterfalls. You can follow the 4x4 trail back down but you may need to walk a bit on the road back to your car. Beautiful hike and we had it all to ourselves!
