Drive to Ananthagiri Hills is very pleasant.Greenery on both the sides of the road and some nice melodious music on the drive will make the journey a memorable one. First, you would visit the Anantha Padmanabha temple , in which the garbhagudi is quite old and a great historic sight. Later, you would go to the 'view point' which is ah-mayy-zingg. You will love the calm serene place amidst the chirping sounds of the birds. Once you start soaking in nature, you would head to the actual ananthagiri hills trekking point. This trekking trail will give you a feel that you are actually in a forest and the wind on top of the hill is oh so pleasant. Finally, you will want to venture out to the kotpally project where you can do kayaking. The water in the lake is not very deep so you don't need to worry about drowning at all. :) After you enjoyed kayaking, you wouldn't leave the place without relishing the egg noodles served there in small vendor stalls. Support them by giving them business. It's the least we can do :) Overall, Ananthagiri hills is a perfect one day getaway from the concrete jungle we are living in. Don't worry about covid as outdoors are far safer than malls n theatres. Do take precautions though. :) Enjoy the blissful experience !!

The road to Ananthagiri Hills via Chevella and Vikarabad from Hyderabad is in good condition as of 14th July 2019. Since it is a two lane highway/ road you cannot drive really fast. Once you leave Hyderabad there is not much traffic on the road . The first stop at Ananthagiri Hills could be Haritha Resort which has a restaurant serving veg buffet during lunch, a bar, ample parking, toilets, swimming pool for guests and a serene atmosphere to chill. Next stop could be Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swami Mandir, worth visiting. Then you can proceed to View Point of forest department for trekking. You can further proceed to the lake for Kayaking. The road from the View point to the lake is under construction and could be bumpy. you can stop at Ananthagiri Hills viewpoint opposite the Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swami Mandir in the evening for a fabulous view of the windmills far away. Beware you have to pay entry fees at View Points and lake to the forest department @ 30/- for cars and maybe 20/- for bikes. There are no restaurants in Ananthagiri hills and you have to come to Vikarabad for your meals unless you want to have veg lunch buffet at Haritha.

As per Skanda Purana, this temple is believed to be installed by Rishi Markandeya in Dwapara Yuga. For the darshan of Lord Vishnu, Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy did ‘tapasya’ for nearly 1400 years. In the cave where the sage was doing his yoga sadhana, Lord Vishnu appeared as Anantha Padmanabha Swamy in Shali Gram form. For having To have special darshan of the idol of Lord Vishnu, devotees have to enter the cave between 5 am and 2 pm. If you are vexed up with the day-to-day desk jobs; then pack your bags and head over to the beautiful Ananthagiri waterfalls to stay in the lap of nature. As a complement to the breathtaking views, Ananthagiri hills also possess a temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Apart from the temple for the religious people, the hills possess Nagasamudram Lake, which is the perfect place to do some camping. All-in-all, this place is just perfect to enjoy a relaxing weekend. Apart from this, it retains the better part of the culture and cuisine of Andhra Pradesh and has an already established tourism development as opposed to Telangana which has to start from scratch
