Kurnool Archaeological Museum is located at NH 18, Kurnool, AP - 518002. This is the only natural history museum listed in Kurnool The Kurnool Museum has been constructed by the Archaeological Survey of India. Kurnool region is full of historical and archaeological significance with numerous artefacts dug out from Kurnool. Keeping this in mind, the Museum was constructed. The Museum is located near the Handri river, next to the Medical college of Kurnool. Artefacts such as broken sculptures from the temples in the vicinity such as Sangameshwaram, Alampur, Srisailam; weapons used by the local chieftains are preserved in the museum. Located opposite to the Gowri Gopal Hospital, beside Handri bridge on the way to Rajvihar center... Entry ticket is just 3Rs/- per head... But still people aren't showing any type of interest to visit the museum... Gained a lot of knowledge about our Kurnool history and wondered when I came to know that Kurnool is one of the sites belonging to paleolithic age... Paintings on rocks, Carvings made by those some thousands of years ago were displayed.. Coins 💰, swords ⚔️, mud pots, etc that belongs to Mughals, kakatiya, Sri Krishnadevaraya periods were displayed too...
