It's one among the popular tourist destination near by , around (12-13km ) away from Anakapalle, Beautiful Experience , best place to visit with family and friends.
Historically the lake used to be a popular picnic spot for Vizianagaram kings and the British before India’s Independence. They would travel down to the sanctuary to unwind. The lake is believed to support a total of twenty-one villages in the state of Andhra Pradesh flanking along the River Sarada.

Read moreBeautiful and serene fresh water Lake with paid boat ride facility. It makes for a good day trip from Vizag and ideal for a date or with a couple of friends.I wouldn't recommend this for a larger group as there are no other sights to see or activities to be explored nearby.I could spot a few resorts nearby but seemed very small and not very promising.True bird enthusiasts may love this,I could spot quite a few colorful birds and a few varieties of ducks. The boat ride was very good but not for people who don't like adventure as they are tiny gondolas made of palm trees and no life jackets are provided. The fare for a small boat (fits 2) was 400rs for 30mins.There are also medium sized boats(fits10) for 60-100rs per person. Our boat driver Mr Ramakrishna needs special mention as he was very enthusiastic and helped us enjoy the ride thouroughly, very safe and experienced driver too, picked out lotuses for us and gave us insights into their lifestyle and the history of the place.Parking space was neat and well maintained.Do carry your own water bottles and food.
It's truly a hidden gem of tourism and I pray anyone who visits not to litter there.Ideal time to visit is in the winter months, early in the morning before 10am...

So we didn't find any lotus flowers. Other people found a few it seems. We can see some variety flowers as attached in the picture. Don't know the name.
2 boats are attached as a single and 5 people (adults) can fit in it apart from the rower. Ticket cost varies from 50 to 250 depending on the rush and bargain. We got it for 120-150/-. There are 2 types of rides. 30 min and 1 hour. We went for a 30 min ride.
It's a bird sanctuary, so the nice time to visit is in the evening as we can see a lot of birds (locals said it.. we went during morning time around 11. So all I've seen is a duck 🥲) There is a little park nearby for kids to play. Parking space is good too. There is a resort too in the next street.
Totally the visit to kondakarla ava is worth it and I will visit again during the September month hopefully to see a lot of...
