Kurapalli Water Falls /Dam — Attraction in Andhra Pradesh

This place is almost an Hour drive from Visakhapatnam. The route is correct on the map. But as the rains pickup, there is a bridge (more like a check damn, a big one). The locals use it for washing clothes. Trucks, bikes and big vehicles do pass through it in the rain also. But be careful, before you attempt in your vehicle. If not sure, don't cross, walk across and there are autos who charge 10 rupees per head to reach the interested area. The auto ride is 5-7 mins. But walking would take you 25 mins. I have gone several times, in monsoon and in summer. In summer, your vehicle can easily cross. but in Monsson, it's not possible. If you cross on foot, you can take a share auto on the other side.

also, this is not a waterfall. It is a big check damn. In the monsoon it is extremely unsafe to enter the water. Few people every year lose their life. Please do not risk yours.

Carry eatables but do not throw plastic or bottles. Take your garbage back with you. Coconut water shop is available but that's about it.

The area has few temples. Please maintain the sanctity and do not go if consumed alcohol.

A good getaway and quiet place to...

The village is beautiful with mango, teakwood and other beautiful trees. The check dam with its little reservoir and along with a standalone hill on its back is beautiful. However, no waterfall could be seen in non rainy season and the thrash and garbage in surroundings will definitely upset anyone. It is our responsibility whether we are educated or not, not throwing any filth and garbage there. Sincere request to all who visit there not to throw any plastic bottles, food waste, food packaging and empty beer bottles. We keep this little but beautiful place...

Kurapalli water falls is one of the amazing places to visit in vizag and the greenary that is around the dams makes you feel like you are on the edge of sky. But it is also comes with pack of both fun and danger as it is found that many were lossed there lives in the recent past. Enjoy the nature but at the same time, be conscious about the danger that it brings with it....
