Manginapudi Beach

its located on the coast of Bay of Bengal, at a distance of 11 km (6.8 mi) from Machilipatnam of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[1] The beach is maintained by the state tourism board, APTDC. There are plenty of picturesque beaches around the country, but Manginapudi beach in Andhra Pradesh has got a special allure beyond powdery sands and blue waves. Enclosed by a lake and river, the beach may look like a legit paradise-on-Earth, with water so alluring and the black hued soil that renders filters completely obsolete. The golden beachfront spans long miles and always remains abuzz with tourists and locals seeking merriment or moments of quietude be it summers or winters.Located in Krishna District, 85 kilometres away from Vijayawada, approximately 15 kilometres away from Machilipatnam town, the Manginapudi beach was once an important trading centre and a gateway to India via the sea. It is a historic port city, popular health resort and a perfect destination for beach lovers.

With a beautifully made lighthouse in the vicinity and proximity to the lodging and boarding amenities provided for the tourists by AP Tourism Development Corporation, the area is a hit among people for celebrations. The shallow waters are perfect for a dip. Make sure your trip ends by 6 PM or so, because the policemen arrive at sundown to occupy the beach to avoid any anti-social activity; not to forget the crabs that rush to the shores to rest for the night.

During the holy Hindu month of Kartik, visitors throng to the beach for Samudra Snanam (bathing in the sea water) to purify their bodies as part of the customary rites. A giant-sized statue of the Hindu deity Hanuman is anther star attraction of the beach. Other worth noting features of the beach are a park with fountains and well-lit surroundings, a fully functional Kuchipudi dance school and the holy Dattashram which is an ancient temple of Lord Dattatreya, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, is located on the banks of the panoramic sea coast.

Beyond the Manginapudi Beach, there are a few sites worth checking out such as Chilakalapudi Panduranga Swamy temple located in a rural pocket named Chilakalapudi. Known as a manufacturing hub of imitation or artificial jewellery, it is quite a hit among women with a fixation for faux, traditional baubles. Manginapudi Ramalayam temple, Anjaneya swamy temple, Undavalli Caves and Machilipatnam Harbour are other primary attractions near the beach.

Probably, the only gripe visitors arriving in a car face is that one has to walk for a kilometre from the parking area to the shore.

The two-hour journey from Vijayawada Railway/Bus Station by road or train, it is a pristine experience. It is certain to be a tempting experience to revisit with nature’s beauty leaving visitors delighted with joy. For almost half a century, lensmen set their sights on the beach, ready to capture any moment...

📍 Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh

Manginapudi Beach is a hidden gem on the east coast that offers a perfect mix of serenity and scenic beauty. Whether you're visiting with family, friends, or on a solo trip, this beach is a great place to relax and reconnect with nature.

✨ What I Loved:

The black sandy shore is unique and soft to walk on.

The shallow waters make it safe for kids and enjoyable for light splashing.

Sunsets here are absolutely stunning – perfect for photography lovers.

It’s relatively less crowded, which makes it peaceful compared to commercial beaches.

The local seafood stalls serve fresh and tasty fish fry and prawns at budget-friendly prices.

🚧 Things to Note:

Not many changing/restroom facilities available – better to plan accordingly.

Limited shops nearby, so carry water and essentials if you’re staying long.

Early morning or late evening is the best time to visit for a pleasant experience.

🌴 If you're looking for a calm, coastal getaway with a local vibe, Manginapudi Beach is definitely worth a visit. It may not be fancy, but it offers something even better — raw,...

I recently visited Manginapudi Beach in Machilipatnam, and it was a wonderful experience. The beach is a stunning stretch of coastline, offering breathtaking views of the Bay of Bengal.

The beach's scenic beauty is its biggest draw, with golden sand, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque sunsets. It's an ideal spot for relaxation, swimming, and water activities.

What I appreciated most was the beach's tranquility. Unlike crowded tourist spots, Manginapudi Beach offers a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for unwinding and rejuvenating.

The beach's infrastructure has also improved significantly, with amenities like food stalls, restrooms, and parking facilities. The scenic views and serene ambiance make it an excellent spot for photography and nature lovers.

Overall, I'd highly recommend Manginapudi Beach to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this beach is a must-visit destination in Machilipatnam. It's a very nice place for a day outing with family and friends. Nice place to have fun and photoshoot. The beach 🏖 can be maintained bit clean, all the garbage surrounded the beach. Food, snacks and drinks are all available at the beach, but price is on bit higher than usual. Also there are Fer ATV desert bikes are available for rent, they adds ultimate fun to the trip.
