Visited Rose Hill Church during our trip to Araku Valley, and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful and scenic spots of the entire journey.
The church is located on top of a hill, offering beautiful panoramic views of the Araku valley and the surrounding hills. The road to reach it is a bit narrow and winding, but absolutely worth the ride. The drive itself is scenic, and once you reach the top, the atmosphere is incredibly calm and serene.
The church building is small and simple, but well-maintained. It has a charm of its own, with its clean white walls, minimal architecture, and peaceful surroundings. Even if you’re not religious, the place feels very spiritual and grounding. We saw a few locals and travelers offering quiet prayers or just sitting and taking in the view.
There's a cross on the edge of the hill, and from there, you get a stunning 360-degree view of the valley below. It’s a great spot for photography or just enjoying a quiet moment away from the crowds.
We visited in the morning, and the weather was perfect — cool breeze, clear skies, and mist rolling over the hills in the distance. You can really feel the peaceful vibe here.
What I liked: Very peaceful and not crowded Breathtaking hilltop views A perfect place to relax and reflect Good spot for sunrise or early morning visits Clean and well-kept surroundings
Things to keep in mind: No shops or stalls nearby, so carry water/snacks if needed *The road to the top is a bit narrow — drive carefully No entry fee (as of my visit), and parking is limited but manageable
Final Thoughts: Whether you’re religious or not, Rose Hill Church is a must-visit in Araku Valley. It’s perfect for peaceful moments, beautiful views, and soaking in the natural beauty of the region. Highly recommended for couples, solo travelers, and anyone who appreciates quiet,...

It was almost the time of sunset and the mass was going inside the Ross hill. It's kind of odd for the city focks whose half life spend in an eternal city rash. So it's almost evening the intensity of the setting sun is yet to bloom from my dusky face. As I can't control my inquisitiveness to see the beautiful place. The hills are entirely covered like lush evergreen trees, the reflection of magistic ships upon the surface of the port area, that blackness in the wind from the elongated charcoal belts just..... ..... ..just added more n more to that beautiful place. I didn't very much know about this place but I found this to-be-officer who was humble enough to take me a visit. He made me familiar to that place first n then to himself. I used to think i didn't know him but today I got to(a little) but enough to get lost while penning this event now( a satisfactory inquisitiveness i can't even pen )

Read moreLocated at port area, this church is counted as one of the must visit places in Visakhapatnam. The approach road is a bit bumpy and will take you through the coal loading conveyors. Last part of the road has got slight uphill and 4-5 hairpin bends. There is ample free parking space for both four and two wheelers. The place boosts of amalgamation of three religions as you’ll be able to see peaceful coexistence of a temple, a mosque and a church. The location offers a mesmerising panoramic view of city of Vizag, port area, port mouth, entry channel of the port, dolphin hills and dufferin signal station. If luck permits, you’ll be able to visualise how a ship enters/exits through the port channel. The church is beautifully designed. A statue of lord Jesus has added more serenity to the premises. The Church and surrounding are well maintained and the atmosphere is calm and very peaceful. Weekends see more footfalls because of morning prayers as well as for flock of tourists. Overall verdict- definitely...
