Powerful Hanuman Temple with Deep Devotion & Historic Significance Sri Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy Temple, located in Kasapuram near Guntakal (Andhra Pradesh), is one of the most spiritually vibrant and ancient temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman. This temple is famous across the region for its divine energy, miraculous powers, and centuries-old history. It attracts thousands of devotees, especially on Saturdays and during Hanuman Jayanthi. The idol of Lord Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy is tall, majestic, and believed to be swayambhu (self-manifested). Devotees strongly believe that offering prayers here removes obstacles, brings good health, and fulfills wishes. Many people walk barefoot or take special vows before visiting this temple as part of their devotion. 🛕 The temple is clean, spacious, and well-managed by the priests. 🔥 Special poojas, abhishekams, and Annadanam (free food) are conducted regularly. 🌿 The temple also has a beautiful natural setting with a calm, spiritual atmosphere. Devotees from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana visit this temple regularly. Whether you're seeking blessings for strength, courage, or to overcome personal problems, this temple is believed to be very powerful and responsive to sincere prayers. 💯 Highly recommended for anyone seeking divine blessings from Lord Hanuman. A must-visit temple full of faith and miracles.

Had darshan on 03-08-2017.

During the course of his nationwide tour Vyasaraya stayed at the ashram of Vijaya Dasara Teertha Swamy at Silpagiri (now Chippagiri in Kurnool Dt).During the course of the soujourn at Silpagiri one day Vyasaraya in his dream saw Nettikanti Anjaneyaswamy, who it is said informed Vyasaraya that he was underneath the soil and over it was to be seen withered neem Tree and that it would become fresh the moment Vyasaraya reaches the said spot. He disappeared so saying. The next day Vyasaraya visited the then known village, Nettikallu, and located the place which the Lord had told him in his dream.   The moment Vyasaraya visited the site, with the touch of his feet the withered tree started bearing fresh leaves.Immediately he sent for the village elders and dug at the site for the 10 feet Idol of Lord Anjaneya. The Idol glowing in all its divine splendour, was taken out and was reinstalled at the present site with full religious rites. The Swamy sent for the ancestors of present Archakas and gave instructions to them in respect of Archana,Dhoopam.Deepa,Nyvedya offerings etc. He stayed there for some time engaged in "Anushtana" . He offered his tapophala to Lord Anjaneya and left the place. The Idol sees "South" with his face directed towards East. He is Poorvabhimukhi. The Idol is carved in such a manner that he is patiently hearing the supplications of his devoted devotees. He looks as though he is ready to come to their rescue and the same is evidenced by, his "Abhayahasta". Clad in "Kaupeena", his left hand, his Abhayahasta - placed firmly on the waist, club in his hand, simultaneously crushing various Idols, representing evil spirits, is projected in an inimitable style. The super divine loveliness of the Idol can be witnessed during the time of Abhisheka. The Idol is full of animation. The decoration of the Idol by temple priests adds to the splendourous glowing of the Idol.    As the Idol was installed at Nettikallu Village with full vedic rites the "Lord" came to be known as Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy. Nettikallu mean a good stone and Nettikanti means one eyed. The Idol is carved out in such a manner that the right eye is visible and lord sees his devotees with his right eye and satisfies their desires. As such he came to be known as Kasapuram Anjaneya Swamy from time immemorial and as on this day it is believed that the Lord would mitigate the sufferings and difficulties of such devotees who pray him sincerely and appeal to him with Trikarana Suddhi. If such people sleep in the temple premises he would certainly grant their desires and suggests them remedial measures besides solving their problems.   In addition to this it is believed that the Lord would certainly come to the rescue of those who are possessed of evil spirits afflilicted with planetary evil influences and who are childless. Such people should have a dip in the swamy wari pushkarini situated in the north-west in the morning and evening and go round the sanctum with wet clothes for 108 times reciting the name of swamiji. This they do for one mandala ie 40 days.During this period they should have one meal in the day.(Ekabhuktam).They should observe brahmacharya and keep them selves away from liquor, smoking, and non vegetarian food. Those who are meticulousin all these will be freed from the evils by God. The swamiji makes those assessed of evil spirit run, roll and shout during their pradakshina unable to bear the brunt of swamijis anger. This can be witnessed in the temple even...

Very powerful temple. Sri Vyasarajaru is a passionate devotee of Anjaneya Swamy in the 15th century. During his religious tour to some of the famous pilgrimage places in South India has installed this 500 years old Lord Hanuman idol in Kasapuram village, which is very nearer to the Guntakal town. As Anjaneya Swamy sees his devotees with his right eye, this place got its name as Nettikanti Don't forget to see the huge chappals near the dhwaja stambha. It is said that at night times, Anjaneya Swamy wear these chappals given by the devotees and guard the temple.

During the years 1509-1530 AD, Vijaya Nagar was under the rule of Sri Krishnadevaraya. Under the tradition of the exclusive guru, there lay a disciple by name Sree Vyasaraya (of Madhvacharya order). The disciple noted that the ruler faced from a problem called "Kuhula". To thwart away this illness, the sadhu ruled the area for a period of roughly one and a half hours that amounted to 4 Ghatis. Sree Vyasaraya instilled at different places 732 idols of Lord Anjaneya. Sree Vyasaraya achieved mukti in the year 1539 AD.

Sree Vyasaraya was said to be the most favored student of Lord Anjaneya. He had the rare privilege to see the Lord in his true form. Vyasaraya would never take his food without offering prayers to the Lord. One day Vyasaraya witnessed in his dream Nettikanti Anjaneyaswamy, who, according to many a folklore informed Vyasaraya that the lord was buried under the soil and covering it would be a withered neem tree. The moment Vyasaraya reaches the tree, it will blossom once again. Upon visiting the then known village, Nettikallu, and locating the place which the Lord had told him in his dream, the tree immediately began to blossom. Upon digging the site, a 10 feet Idol of Lord Anjaneya was unearthed. The Idol continued to glow in all its divine splendor, and was taken out to be installed where it currently stands

Every year, each devotee readies a pair of shoes for the swamiji which are created by a cobbler. The next day, one can witness the shoes to be a little bit worn out with thorns infesting it. It is believed even upto this day that the Swamiji adorns them and proceeds outdoors for night walks. With such faith the devotees present a pair of shoes as per what they can dedicate to Swamiji. Hundreds and thousands of devotees visit the temple to favour to the lord . They reside and rest within the temple premises itself in the night pleading god to come to their aid and help them avert difficulties. Annually, during the Saturday of Visakha , Sravana, Karthika and Magha several bhakts reach the temple for a practice called Namakaranam and shaving their heads. They pray for the lords protection. There is a temple-fair held every weekend. The Swami's devotees annually employ themselves in service of the temple as per their ability, all of this to have the blessings of the great Lord.

History of the temple:

Shambhukarna, a resident of Brahmaloka, was assisting Lord Brahma in arranging the essential requirements for daily worship. On one day there was some delay in executing his work. On account of this delay Lord Brahma got wild and cursed Shambhukarna. On account of the curse he was born as a man in Bhooloka. In Krithayuga he was born as Prahlada to Hiranya Kasyapu and as Bahlika in Dwaparyuga. In Mahabharatha Sangrama he took the side of Kauravas and fought.

In Kaliyuga in the 14 th century he was born as "Vyasaraya" . In the next birth it would appear he was born as Raghavendra Swamy in Mantralaya.

Sree Vyasaraya was the most favoured disciple of Lord Anjaneya and had the opportunity to see the Lord in his true form.Vyasaraya would never take his food without offering prayers to the Lord. It is said and believed that Vyasaraya installed the Idols of Sree Lord Anjaneya in the Districts of Bellary, Anantapur and Kurnool which formed part of Vijayanagar empire.
