Read more⭐⭐☆☆☆ Beautiful Temple, Poor Maintenance – Honest Review
Hi all, Me, my father, and my mother visited Sri Parvathi Jadala Ramalingeshwara Swamy Temple, Chervugattu on 30-06-2025 at 11:47 AM, and I want to share my disappointing experience — not with the divine energy, but with the poor maintenance and mismanagement of the temple premises.
⚠️ My Disappointments: 1️⃣ Car Entry Fee – ₹50: Even before we began, we had to pay ₹50 for entry. But when we reached near the temple, the car parking area was occupied by local autos, forcing us to park roadside. No regulation at all.
2️⃣ Washroom Condition – Dirty & Smelly: The moment we reached the entrance, we were welcomed by a strong bad smell from the toilets. I had to use the washroom — they charged me ₹5, but it was in terrible condition. No basic hygiene.
3️⃣ No Foot Wash Facility: There was no water tap or area to wash our legs, which is basic at any temple. I had to use the washroom area again just to clean my feet.
4️⃣ Unorganized Sarva Darshan Entry: There were no clear directions or proper lines. People were entering from two different sides, leading to confusion. We waited for about an hour for Darshan.
5️⃣ Paid Access to Hilltop Lingam – ₹10 Each: After the main Darshan, we climbed towards another small Shiva Lingam atop the hill. They charged ₹10 per person, and again, there was a terrible smell — this time of spoiled milk and curd. Devotees were throwing empty packets into the rocks, turning the holy hill into a dump yard.
6️⃣ Prasadam Counter Issues: We bought:
4 x Pulihora (₹10 each = ₹40)
4 x Laddus (₹20 each = ₹80)
But they didn’t provide any carry bag. A person next to the counter was selling cheap plastic bags for ₹10 each, which felt like a scam — clearly exploiting the situation.
💸 Total Expenses: ₹215 (Excluding petrol & personal time)
🙏 Divine Experience, Poor Management: Spiritually, the temple has deep historical and mythological roots. But infrastructure, sanitation, crowd handling, and transparency are completely lacking. Devotees deserve better!
📜 Temple History: Believed to be the 108th and final Shiva Lingam installed by Sage Parashurama as part of his penance.
Known for its unique sanctum sanctorum located between rocks.
The temple is associated with legends of the spider, serpent, and elephant attaining Moksha here.
This place has potential to be a major pilgrimage center, but the temple management needs serious reforms — from cleanliness to ticketing systems, and basic facilities like water, parking, and crowd control.
📢 Final Note: Spiritual vibe – 5 stars Temple management – 1 star Average – ⭐ 2/5
Let’s hope the authorities take feedback seriously and uplift this historic place to its true spiritual glory. #ChervugattuTemple #ShivaTemple #HonestReview...

FESTIVALS/EVENTS/GATHERINGS
Loud and energetic cries of Hara haramahadeva and omnamahashivaya can be heard across all the Shiva temples scattered across the Nalgonda district. At the temple of Cheruvugattu, devotees are known to have formed long queues to offer prayers and devotion to their chief deity Lord Shiva. They perform special rituals and poojas. Agnigundalu is considered to be one of the prime festivals of the ongoing Brahmotsavalu. It is held during the night time. Dopotsavam, Mahapurnahuthi, Jyothirlingarchana and events are also conducted in the temple each pertaining to worship the different forms of Lord Shiva. The temple gods are taken out for a festive procession on Gajavahanam in the evening. This celebration marks the finale of the Brahmotsavalu. Bhakts in large numbers have been noted to visit the Cheruvugattu Jadala Ramalingeswara Swami Temple to witness the three-day 'Jatara'. The highlight of the festival is performing the chief deity's 'Kalyanam'. On the last day of the festival, a large majority of the Lord's devotees walk, mostly barefoot, on burning chunks of coal. The devotees believe that upon doing so, the lord ensures that they don't face any kind of pain or suffering in the time to come. Many religious bhakts also perform holy dips in the tank of the temple. They perform this because they believe that the water has medicinal properties. Three major 'gundus' (rocks) that reside in close proximity to the temple are also worshipped by the devotees. A Shivalingam has been worshipped on the third 'gundu' since several years. The people undertook the risk of performing the worship solely on themselves, since there neither are steps nor support...
