A very beautiful and historical place You can see a Ranganatha swamy sleeping statue inside the main temple, very old and historic construction which has many great skilled sculptures. I noticed a construction which is not being maintained well, it would be great if our government can take initiation and reserve or try to maintain the heritage Ranganatha swamy murthy is not completely visible as the murthy is in sleeping posture and the entrance door is small But very divine and peaceful ambience Right behind the temple there is a gate leading to lake which is very beautiful and worth watching In some pushkarini or special days people leave diyas on banana leave in the water as per hindhu tradition There are many historical stories on this temple Hard to find parking here as it is located in thin galis of the area I also noticed that there a houses inside the temple like between the main entrance and the second entrance which was a bit surprising

Who are we to give any star to God's creations. This is An important heritage temple complex for all hindu community. I think it will submerge in dam water, if The Penna baragge, behind the temple, stores water at its full capacity. But any one can heart a hindu and his sentiment. A small Goshala, a shri Balaji and shri Laxmi temple are part of this temple complex. Strict following of open and shut timings. Only one photo to post. That is of the temple bell standing alone in a corner of temple from 1948 and will stand high also after God's submergen under water.

The Simhapuri rulers also contributed to the construction of the temple. This temple was later developed by King Raja Mahendra Varma in the 12th century AD. Gaaligopuram is seven floors with excellent sculptures & is approximately 70 feet high and has 10 feet of gold plated vessels on top of it, called kalashams. A must place to visit in Nellore.

Shri Thalpagiri Ranganatha Swamy temple is located on the banks of river Penna near Nellore Railway Station. This temple is very old where lord Vishnu is worshipped as Ranganatha in a resting position. The idol is 10ft long made of black stone similar to the idol of Srirangam temple. Lord Ranganayaki temple and Venkateswara temple are also present in the same compound. One may face bit problem in parking their four wheelers during holidays. A must visit place for those visiting Nellore town.
