📍Location & Visitor Reviews • The temple is situated along the route to Papavinasanam, approximately 5 km from the main Tirumala Venkateswara Temple . • Though some sources mention an address in Karvetinagaram (~45 km from Tirupati), this specific Venugopala Swamy Temple near Papavinasanam is a well‑known small shrine within the Tirumala area itself . • According to reviews on Tripadvisor, the temple is peaceful and beautifully maintained, with a serene ambiance amid natural surroundings and nearby stalls selling devotional items and refreshments . • Reviewers consistently highlight its “divine” aura and recommend it as a must‑visit while in Tirumala. Best to avoid it with children when heavily crowds, as some mention it gets packed at times .

⸻

🕉️ Historical and Religious Significance • The temple is dedicated to Sri Venugopala Swamy, a flute‑playing form of Krishna, accompanied by his consorts Rukmini and Satyabhama in the sanctum sanctorum . • It is one of the few Krishna temples under TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) administration in the vicinity of Tirumala — daily rituals follow Vaikanasa Agama, and key festivals (Krishna Janmashtami, Brahmotsavams, Utlotsavam, Vaikuntha Ekadasi, Ugadi, Sankranti) are celebrated annually . • Architecturally the original temple had a Dravidian-style layout, with multiple prakaras and halls, though that’s likely to correspond to the Karvetinagaram Venugopala Swamy Temple and not the small Papavinasanam shrine .

⸻

🛕 Visitor Tips & Experience • Entry: A nominal fee (e.g., ₹2–₹5) may be charged; some reviews note it’s not free and managed by a local Mutt rather than directly by TTD . • Crowd levels: Generally quiet early morning; crowds increase during festival events and holidays. One review cautions that children may find it crowded to navigate . • Ambience & Surroundings: Set amid nature, with steps leading up and shops on approach. Parking and puja arrangements are considered visitor‑friendly . • Combined pilgrimage tip: Since it lies on the way to other landmarks like Papavinasanam or Akashaganga, it’s easy to include in a Tirumala...

powerful god. cant beleive it is under devastana, dust environment . the priest are giving importance to money. i saw people even wont get prasadam if put coins. it is a very bad attitude. total miss management of resource by devastana. All pilgrims are forcibly made to pay rs.5 as entrance ticket. There are 2 goondas blocking the way. The display board clearly says rs.2 entrance but the goondas claim that to be for kids entrancr. In fact a rs.5 harathi ticket is issued but The priest inside ignores this , so he also aware of this fraud. Rs.5 from thousands of pilgrims daily is bad. Such extortion from poor people is condemnable. Why do they forcibly tie a thread and charge 10rs? Is this not looting? If they are going to charge money, they should put up a board( Thread for 10rs)Pujaris in this temple are very commercial and cunning. They are demanding for dakshina. They are tying 'tayattu' without asking and demanding 10rs/-. Very bad experience. Tirumala Devasthanam should look into this issue. Other than that temple is very good. Om namah Shivaya:Every thing is bussiness temple visiting charges 5rupes pujari tai the mala charges is 10rupes temple staff was...
