History
Also known as "Dakshina Kashi (Kashi of the South), Antarvedi, is an important pilgrim centre in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh state in India, situated at the interior part at East coast. Lord Brahma, in order to get freed from the sins he had committed against Lord Sankara, had performed Rudrayaga and installed Lord Neela kantheswara there. As that place was made a stage or "Vedik" to perform the Yagam, it was named as "ANTARVEDI" It is a small village in Sakhinetipalle Mandal which is located close to Narsapur near the Bay of Bengal Coast and Vashishtha River. This river is said to have been brought by Maharishi Vashishtha, one of the Sapthrishis(seven great sages) of Hindu Mythology. Read moreMy visit to Antarvedi Beach was a mixed experience. The beach's natural beauty and serene surroundings were undoubtedly the highlights of the trip. The sandy shoreline stretched out beautifully, offering a picturesque view of the Bay of Bengal. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was soothing, and the gentle sea breeze was refreshing.
However, the beach lacked proper facilities and cleanliness. There were limited amenities available for visitors, and the absence of clean public restrooms was quite disappointing. Moreover, the accessibility to the beach was not very convenient, and the lack of proper signages made it a bit challenging to find the entrance. Additionally, during peak tourist seasons, the beach tends to get crowded, which can take away from the peaceful experience one would hope for at a coastal getaway.
While I enjoyed the natural beauty of Antarvedi Beach, I feel that there is room for improvement in terms of infrastructure and maintenance. With better facilities and efforts to keep the beach clean, it has the potential to become a more inviting and enjoyable destination...
Read moreI visited this place last week. First the road going to this place is very narrow with a canal on one side. So should go in day time Next the village is small and for someone who wants to stay for night there is accommodation available only from temple authorities Also one should see the timings for temple as it is closed in the afternoon 12.30 to 2.30 pm There are no hotels but food is served free by temple which is very good A good place to visit. After the temple one should go to the place where Godavari river merges into Ocean
