The plan was hanging in the air till the last moment, but I am indebted to Maa that She called for me as always and I landed here with much sacredness and love in heart for my Maa.
I reached Silapathar and from there the journey began for this magnificent shrine which is also an Archaeological site and there we were within half an hour outside the redstone shrine that exuberates purity, energy and light.
The parking was adequate and we got Pooja samagri that included incense sticks, diyas, oil and dry prasadam from one of the stores. We got an entry ticket @ ₹20/follower and after climbing a flight of stairs, we were outside the incredible shrine. One may take the ramp too.
We cleaned ourselves with spring water that flows through taps of the dedicated area where bhakts purify themselves with water before entering the temple.
We came under the banyan tree with no leaves but a huge trunk and endless sacred threads were tied around a thick branch. Under it were Shiv Lingas and the idol of Nandi ji. We lit the diyas and some incense sticks here and prayed. On the opposite side was Shiv Linga and in front of it was Nandi ji placed in a glass case. All were excavated long back and due to the efforts of the then District Commissioner, Shri Singh, the shrine and the excavated remains have been beautifully restored.
Now it was the turn to enter the main shrine. The idol of Maa left me awestruck. The chanting of sacred mantras by the Head priest, jingling of bells and freshness in the air were divine beyond mere explanation. We did circumambulation and paid homage to different forms of Maa whose idols were beautifully placed in dedicated spaces of the wall of the sanctum sanctorum. The architecture and interiors were simply marvellous.
After our darshan, we went to the Archaeological gallery zone and appreciated the remains and the information mentioned on the blue boards. We came down to our car and my heart was thumping and leaping with joy and I was thanking Maa profusely for blessing me with Her...
