The Best experience of the Shrine is getting a dip in this Kund, it is absolutely refreshing and relaxing. The water is very cold and swift flowing. Please take utmost care while taking a dip into the water. If you want to experience water's blue colour avoid visiting during rainy season. The changing room is nearby and lockers are also available. An advise to all pilgrims, please don't throw your rejected clothes and wrappers of worshipping items here and there. Dispose the clothes at its designated places either near or far. Try to contribute yourself, at least by your behaviour and actions. My request to the local authority, please educate and prohibit both local residents and tourists from throwing garbage here and there (even in parking areas, roads and specifically in water body), if a person has inner conscience will definitely listen to you and agree with you otherwise how well he/she is educated or how well he/she is dressed it doesn't has any meaning he/she need a slap on his/her cheek. My appeal to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and Temple Administration Authority, please impose strict fines and punishment for the defaulter as per his/her economic worth, those who are seen or caught polluting a place. Its effect must be such that it has an impact of waking a person from...
Read moreParshuram Kund, nestled in the Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh, is a sacred pilgrimage site revered for its spiritual significance and natural beauty. According to legend, Lord Parshuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, washed away his sins here after beheading his mother on his father’s command. As he dipped his axe into the Lohit River, it detached from his hand, symbolizing the absolution of his guilt. This act sanctified the site, making it a place of penance and purification.
Every year, during Makar Sankranti in January, over 70,000 devotees from across India and Nepal gather to take a holy dip in the kund’s waters, believing it cleanses them of their sins. The surrounding landscape, with its lush green hills and the pristine Lohit River, offers a serene environment for meditation and introspection.
Recent developments under the PRASHAD scheme aim to enhance the site’s infrastructure, including the installation of a 51-foot statue of Sage Parshuram and improved facilities for pilgrims. Whether you’re a spiritual seeker or a nature enthusiast, Parshuram Kund offers a unique blend of devotion and tranquility, making it a must-visit destination in...
