Deopani Durga Mandir is located at NH-39, Deopani, Karbi Anglong, Assam - 782470.. It lies on the left-hand side of the road while traveling towards Bokajaan..

Deopani Durga Mandir is a very famous Mandir of Assam, which was established in the year 1917.. It is in the middle of a Tea Estate nd only 1½km(approx) from the NH.. Devotees from all over Assam gathers here for a Prayer to Maa Durga, there is a huge bannyan tree in the premises where the devotees ties Red colour Ribbons with a beliefs/saying that if anyone does it wishing something from Maa Durga then his/her wish will come true nd after that he/she has to come nd open up the tied ribbon.. The tress looks really beautiful with all the red ribbons on it.. For other offerings of Prasad one has to hand over all the things to the Pandit Ji, nd light up the Earthenlamps nd Dhups at a said particular place, and when Prayer to Maa is done the Pandit Ji will hand over the Prasad back to u.. Till then u can rest there, enjoy the beauty of the place, take pictures.. A lots of Pigeon nd Goats can be seen here in the Mandir Premises, as many of the devotees bring them for offering to Maa Durga in regards to some promise they had given to Maa Durga..

From the entrance gate onwards the Mandir is built very beautiful, the campus is very large with place for sitting nd resting of the devotees, as people come from far far places.. Outside there are hundreds of small stalls for Dhup, Saki, But, Mogu, Fol-Mul etc etc, with 1-2 hotels also for the visitors..

#One can also take all his cooking utensils, if he/she wish to give a Bali in Offering to Maa Durga against any wish he had been thinking for nd cook the Prasad nd have it there itself..

#Journey to the Temple can be done from Golaghat by Buses which is approx 44kms, but the road conditions is not good.. So one who is planning to visit Maa must come early morning so that he can well manage the time nd safely return home before dark.. As the road goes through the Nambor Habi, a deadliest jungle of Assam, especially coz of wild elephant who always aims to attack passers-by..

Beautiful Mandir of Maa Durga, a must to visit...

Please read. I've visited there in 2019 which is about 3 years later. And believe me, this is the worst road in which I drove in my life. I took my new car and I've to go for repairing my car in the very next day of my visit to this wonderful temple. I'm a very religious person and I've travelled too many temples till now. The temple is in a very wonderful place and its beauty is just marvellous. But please think MORE THAN TWICE before taking your car there. Believe me, I found my whole body shaking through the whole night. In one place I saw a truck's wheel shaft was completely broken because of the mud of the road. And some guys try to remove water and they dig the road to taking the truck out from that mud. I'll update my review with the youtube link in which you can experience how it feels to drove in that road. Thanks for reading. Please ignore my bad English.

On the fateful day, scores of moon ago, Late Surendra Nath Roy (fondly known as Nunu Babu) a popular freedom fighter, philanthropic and tea planter living in Deopani T.E, Mikir Hills, Assam decided to hunt along with his friends and workers in the jungle of his tea plantation. They camped in a spot and rested after the hunt. As evening progressed they proceeded back to their homes and Nunu Babu retired in his bungalow at Deopani T.E. In the middle of night he woke up to a dream of Goddess Durga speaking to him that while he and his hunt party was resting over ground she laid underground. Take me out she spoke to him in his dreams. Greatly moved and disturbed by the dream Nunu Babu woke up to a dilemma as to believe the dream and act on it as a divine command or treat it as a mere dream and fall asleep again. He was not restful and got anxious by the moment.
