This is Haleswar temple we have visited in the occasion of Shivratri festival .You got only peace here because this is the place of lord Shiva ❣️ It's a amalgamation of temple and namghar.

Idol worshipping as well as

non-idol worshipping place.

The complex consists of

Ganesh, Shiva, Hanuman,

Vishwakarma and Shani temple

and a big namghar.

There's a big pond with an impressive Shiva statue in the middle of the pond, accessable via a small bridge.

At least 7 puja-samagri stalls

inside the complex.

Prasad distribution after 12.30 everyday.

Good place to worship and

spend time.

A little hand-me-down history lesson about this place :

It was established during the rule of Mlechchha dynasty in then capital of Hadapeshvar (Tezpur) around 650 CE. The shivling was rediscovered by a farmer while ploughing his fields, hence the name Hallowa + Ishwar = Halleshwar. A new temple was reconstructed on the site by Ahom King Rudrasingha around 1705. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva but houses Lord Vishwakarma and Shani among others.

There's also a beautiful, well-maintained pond in the vicinity with swans and geese. There are several goats and (mostly flightless) pigeons donated to the Gods. This temple also serves khichdi and kheer prasad regularly. My mom says the miraculous thing about this temple is that no matter how many people are visiting and how much khichdi is being prepared, there's neither shortage nor leftover, ever. It's always the perfect amount!

The temple authority also conducts marriages and annaprasannas, etc. The vicinity was neat and clean and I hope to see it that way always. Clean and green with peaceful,...

Recently I visited Haleswar temple and was amazed by the serene and peaceful environment. Situated on the outskirts of Tezpur town this is one of the oldest temple and is situated near NH15 highway. According to mythology, a linga was discovered by a farmer(Halowa) while plowing the fields and hence the name Haleswar.Initially, a temple was built upon the linga, and later, in 1705 A.D. it was reconstructed by King Rudra Singha of the Ahom dynasty. This temple besides the linga consists of the idols of God Ganesha, Viswakarma, Hanuman and Shani dev and also a namghar in the same complex. So this temple is visited by both the Vaishnavites and Shivaites. The temple is well maintained and also has car parking for visitors. There is also a beautiful pond nearby the temple with a big idol of Lord Shiva in the middle of the pond. Prasad distribution usually starts at 1:15 in the afternoon. In all a very good place for mental peace...
