Mahatma Gandhi Udyan/Khanikar Park — Attraction in Assam

The place is pretty close to the newly opened Jaggannath Temple. The park is visible from the main road. The entry fees is ₹30/ head which is too much. The closing times are different for winter and summer seasons. In summers it closes at 6p.m. and in winter months at 4p.m. Eatables from outside are not allowed. It's a well planned park. Beautifully built. But it's in shambles now. No regular maintenance is being carried out. The lights are broken, the children Aqua park is in pathetic condition, even most of the amenities are in bad shape. Even garbage is being dumped in some places inside the park. It badly needs proper repair and maintenance. It has got lots of visitors and they charge ₹30 per head , so there can't be shortage of funds. It's just that the people who are responsible for the park are not doing their work properly and are negligent about it.
