A great water body in Northern Bangalore around which many important key public bodies like Jakkur aerodrome exists.

It's quite open water body with two/ three islands in the middle of it adding beauty to the lake. The catchment area around Lake have been reduced by unmindful construction thus fresh water inflow has been reduced. Lot of drainages from in and around Lake body are being discharged into it thus water looks muddy and smells. Sewage treatment plant is operational to treat the water however plant capacity seems inadequate to treat the lake water completely.

The walkway around periphery of lake has been done up very nicely. One round of lake gives you walk of around 4km+ distance. A small children park with swings and other playing euipment has been built up in one side of lake. An obstacle course, near children park has also been set up. The ropes on obstacle course equipment has worn out and not been replaced thus not allowing kids to make full use of obstacle. course.

The walkway path is good, lot of sitting benches throught the stretch has been created. The main entrance area has been spruced up with good flowering plants, adequate sitting arrangement, a viewing deck etc.

There are about two/three entrances to park. One is main entrance another entrance Google map marks it children park, however the children park is actually located slightly away. Parking is available on these both entrances. Only one toilets were found near main entrances which was open. The other toilets near children park was locked.

Overall a good experience to visit and walk...

Peaceful and serene lake so near to the city which still managed to have clear water. The lake was revived couple of years back and been used for govt run fisheries department. I think this is why there is some inflow of cash for maintenance, There is also a STP (sewage treatment plant (STP) in the north of the lake. A pathway along the perimeter, an idol immersion tank, a boat jetty and islands for migratory birds is also there.

For years I have been a regular visitor. This is an ideal place for cycling, jogging, walking, meditation, bird photography. An walk along the lake perimeter would be around 4km. The best part is there are not much crowd, even on weekends. If you are a nature lover then you can sit there for hours feeling the gentle cold breeze and listening to chirping of the birds. This lake is a paradise for Birds - most commonly you can spot Brahminy Kite, Parakeets, Kingfishes, Coots, Herons, and Cormorants. Also, migratory birds arrives during Sep/Oct and they leave by Mar/April.

Tips: if you are someone who loves fish, you can purchase fresh fish if you go in the morning. The fishes are sold to merchants from...

A calm and quiet place. It's a beautiful spot for a hangout or a walk. You can bring the kids to spend their playtime. A small park with a lot of sports activities is maintained here. What I found more interesting is that the table games are arranged in the seats with an explanation of how to play each game. Now the area is not maintained well . Even the restrooms are not functional. It's essential for such natural spaces to be cared for properly to preserve their beauty and offer a pleasant experience to visitors. I hope that the authorities or concerned parties take necessary steps to restore and maintain the area, ensuring its charm and appeal for future visitors. Although the parking facilities were limited during peak hours, it did not overshadow the wonderful experience I had at Jakkur Lake and Garden. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat and a closer connection to nature in the heart...

Probably one of the best and most calming lakes in the city. You would love to be here if you want some peaceful time for yourself or with your loved ones among nature as you walk around this 5 km walking radius (approx) lake. Early in the morning they open by 7 and evening closes around the same. As the lake is not near any main road and needs you to travel a bit inside (which in turn helps to keep away the usual city noise) before you reach it makes the place not so crowded when compared to other lakes in town but is definitely a favourite for people living nearby. This place has a small kids play area where kids would love to spend some time. Also, you'll find a track to race through some obstacles for adults to bring out their child in them. As you walk around the lake you'll see different view points which will make you want to sit and feel that scenery around you. Visit this place once to understand this for yourself.
