This place could provide one with a slice of Patna life: especially for foreign tourists, it could showcase, on the one hand, modern tableau whereby young lovers (mostly teens!) throng under concrete sheds, and many stealthily creep inside nook and cranny for little intimate time; but, on the other hand, one may see people having a tonsure under spiritual regulation of Hinduistic tradition, immersing remains of their beloveds in the holy water, and participating in recitals of mantras under the guidance of their priests.
This ghat is also a small business hub: small boats carry passengers across the bank of the Ganges for a small amount (₹30, if you could bargain well!); there is also a government-run boat, which is bigger than privately-run boats, that charges about ₹100 for a tour of the Ganges. The local civic authorities have no clues; the state and central governments announce ambitious projects but to no avail. So anyone who visits this place, DO NOT TAKE DIP.
Nevertheless, this bank has always provided me peace of mind in the time of stress, and it also inspires me in the...
